I just finished watching the office today...and as soon as that line was said,it I had a lump in my throat! I was so into the last episode, with all of the characters reflecting on their journey, which led to me thinking of my own. What a killer line! Whilst I was on S6 a couple of weeks back, I happened upon some comments from a lot of people saying that the Office went downhill from S7 onwards. I can see why a lot of people would say that, but I felt the comedy still remained. I enjoyed it still and Dwight definitely did carry the show onwards. Need to rewatch the series again!

Here's a question - what are your thoughts on the UK version? Now everyone keeps talking about how it's a huge gem, along with bitterness towards the US for adapting on it. Perhaps I need to watch the 2 seasons to give an actual assessment of it. Having watched the first couple of episodes though, I actually don't rate it at all - the punchlines does not sit in with me. Perhaps I've entered in a state of denial, whereby having watched the US version first before the UK, I'm now reluctant to accept anyone else playing the role of the "Assistant (to the) regional manager" , or the receptionist, or the sales team etc...other than those that portrayed it for the US. Its weird to think too - that despite the accolades, popularity and audience they obtained here in the UK, they only managed 14 odd episodes. On a side note, I wonder what the show would have been like, had Seth Rogan been accepted for the role of Dwight....

There will never be a show like this ever again. By this, I mean that that even if you bring the exact cast and crew back right now, they still wouldn't be able to pull it off. The office was one of those shows created in a special moment in Television history. It didn't have the sazz of today, it had outgrown some of the standardized comedy of FRIENDS. It was shot in an unexpectedly ludicrous style, the casting sat perfectly together- not just in their chemistry with each other, but where they were in their careers. none of them were big stars; they were all just seriously talented people just eager to make the best of this one opportunity that had come their way. Even for the creators, schur and daniels, this was the beginning, which kickstarted two of the best known tv careers. I can't speak for the cameramen and the casting directors and all; god knows their stories rarely ever make it to our ears, but I'm sure they must have felt blessed to put their talents in there too. So somehow, it all sat together in this melting pot where timing, history, peoples artistic career arcs, and the need for a show like this, broke through the screens for us. This show was touched by a divinity. Its hard to describe, but very few works of film get to do it: to capture the lightning in the bottle in this way. I mean, whatever said and done, nothing these actors ever do will ever top this. It doesn't matter if they win back-to-back oscars. Think of the fans of this show: the subculture of online groups- they genuinely deeply love this show. I can't tell you how many people I have assessed accurately just by the way they talk about the office, how many people's cores I understand and love through how they relate to the show. When I said this show is touched by a divinity, think of this youtube channel. I think every office fan agrees the person who's in charge of the youtube channel loves the show as deeply as we do. that person is just a fan like us, and they just delight in servicing another fan: their output is from a place of pure love and devotion. and this is all unspokenly understood. So this show was a moment of actualization- of pure perfection. Everyone who comes in contact with it is raised by it. Everyone, i say, everyone, who was involved with this grew out of it in a way that was life-altering in the most meaningful definition of the word. I'm talking mostly about us, the people who watched this show. I mean think about it, in the end, has there ever been a show like this? ever? ever? its deleted scenes alone could make up a show that is better than almost every show being put up out there today. its the show that is familial in the truest sense. its perfect. its perfect. i cant tell you what this show means to me. i could rewatch it a hundred times and still extract the same fulfillment from it, because there's so much to watch for , so much to tune yourself into, so much. This is when you're thankful that artists give their 100% because they are compelled to by some divine force. I think they realize somehow that anything below their best would be unacceptable, and the atmosphere at this show allowed everyone to reach that highest potential. and at the end of the day, you realize that this is the show which most closely resembles the lives we live. just goes to show how beautiful life can be. this show captured the lightning in a bottle when imitating life to art, and now we must draw from this bottle as much as we can, let the art percolate into life. this is what we need- a simple, yet sophisticated show which shows us how extraordinary our ordinary lives actually are.

When I tell you I hadn’t laughed like I did watching this show for years you’ve gotta trust me. The characters, the plots and the show in general is just a whole comedic masterpiece. I hope this show is not forgotten. It is for all time. This is the best series I know. I was born in 2008, in 2021 I learned about the series. And just watched it in its entirety. I am full of emotions. I can see how important this project is for all actors and workers. We are all, including the audience, a family. Let's not forget this. Goodbye The Office.

I watched every episode during its initial run. Now my wife and I have probably watched every episode 5 more times in reruns. No signs of slowing down and now KZbin has tons more Office content to feed our Office addiction.

When I was taking care of my mom in the hospital due to the virus, this show made my days a little bit easier to bear, helped me get a good night's sleep during those days, and this was my second run through of the show. Never gets old. I will forever be a fan. Thank you

The Office isn't just a show. It's a lot more than a TV Show. Generally, when you watch a show you know, that it's just a show. But, In case of "The Office" you can feel it, you even might feel that it's happening in front of your eyes. You will laugh in the jokes & pranks of "The Office" and you will cry in every emotional scenes. Every moment of "The Office" is so realistic. You will feel bored if you see the same thing a lot of times but, the more you see "The Office" you will be more fascinated. And According to me "The Office" is the best show ever created. There's a lot of reasons for "The Office" to be the favorite TV Show of a lot of guys. You can really relate with any of the characters maybe you'll find yourself in any character. Every moment/scenes seems so familiar like it has happened to your life before. You can't help yourself from laughing in every prank Jim has done, every weird thing Dwight has done. But you have to cry in the sad moments even though you don't want to. Remember when Miachael left "The Office" and (the emotional farewell song) and (the last interaction with Jim). When Dwight saw Miachael at his wedding, Dwight was so emotional. Remember when everyone together was watching the office documentary for the first time in Season 9 then Oscar said, "Nothing will ever be the same again" that quote really hit me hard because "Nothing will ever be the same again since the day "The Office" was ended"

what I love is that this can also be perceived as the characters talking about the office because remember...it was a documentary. all the characters can technically be labelled as the cast of that documentary but that's just how I think, I adore this though.

my family have watched this show 5 times, we are watching it for the 6th time season 2 episode 5 tonight, even the kids (8-13) love it so much because is different, the fact that the characters look to the camera makes it feel real and very personal close to your heart. For me the best show (comedy Reader's Digest style) ever done.

This was more than just laugh, the Office is about Life "There's a lot of beauty in Ordinary thing, isn't that kind of the point?" Pam wasn't my fav character but Jenna is the biggest fan of the Show, iI'll Give "Pam" dat...
@dukcy74503 жыл бұрын
I agree, i stopped liking pam as much after season 5. She kinda just turned into to the office’s version of the working mom and how she has to be respected for that. Her role in the last few episodes did resemble her old character.

I'll leave this text for anyone who saw The Office long after the show ended. and for those who didn't have anyone to share it with. It's really very difficult to express in one word what the office means. I think that for those who saw episodes randomly on TV, they might think this show is just another sitcom. but I'm sure that anyone who marathoned this show, one episode after another, knows how difficult it is to stop watching, it's like a parallel life, so well told, so simple, so full of life, the characters are so brilliant that you forget it's just another show. The Office is not a comedy, it is one of the best told love stories in history, it is an exceptional drama, it is a beautiful tragedy. I'm very sorry to anyone who hasn't given this masterpiece a real chance yet. I finished watching the last episode today, 11/28/2023, I left devastated but in a way I've never felt before, I think I cried a lot knowing it was the last episode, but man, the writers of this show are incredible , they manipulate their emotions very well, humor is the most difficult genre to write. I didn't know what I felt in that last episode. when jim and dwight were talking and michael appears and responds to dwight with "that's what she said" i was crying so, so much, but still laughing at michael's stupid joke. I started watching The Office because I wanted to satisfy my curiosity and ended up watching what could be the best series of my life. Unfortunately, I didn't see the last episode that day to comment on the internet, I can only imagine how incredible it must have been. And if it was the same for you, feel welcomed by this text, because I know how it hurt to see everyone saying goodbye and not having anyone to share it with. I hope that someday I have a girlfriend or wife to review all this again with me, there comes a time when it hurts to see the office alone. I don't know if I'll have the opportunity, but if I could I would thank each and every one of the cast, production, direction, filming, for this series, you showed up at the worst moment of my life and made it magical, I will be eternally grateful.
