$6,300/month and Rent Stabilization? Lord, have mercy! Rent control for the wealthy... It's a BEAUTIFUL apartment! The only negative that I have is that the gym only offers dumb bells up to 50lbs. Oh! and, cleaning that "to the ceiling" glass shower! But, if anyone is able to afford $6,300/month then that same person can endure a year of torture and live for much less with their parents, siblings, friends, whatever, and SAVE that type of money to use as a down payment to OWN something. Again, it's a BEAUTIFUL apartment but not at $6,300/month, IMHO.

This is a nice respite from seeing those cramped, overpriced, renovated walk-ups you posted recently. I like that the bedrooms are at the opposite end of the apartment from each other. $6300 rent stabilized for a 1000 sq ft rooftop apartment in Williamsburg? Pretty rare for NY all that space and the view of Manhattan is cool. Its the ultimate NY penthouse. I can see it going fast for whoever has the money to move in because like Cash says, that lease would last longer than your relationship. My rant on rent stabilization: The rent stabilized system is sometimes an arbitrary, random, inequitable mess. For instance, you can have the exact same apartment than the one below in your building and you could be paying twice as much rent. You may be making half as much money as that renter below you, but be paying twice as much rent. A lot of the new rent stabilized housing is needs based when you first move in, but if your salary quadruples after you move in, your rent stays the same and you don't get kicked out. The older rent stabilized housing is generally not needs based. The turnover of the lower priced rent stabilized units is very low, so your chances of getting those extreme bargains are very very low. Since half of the rental in NYC are not market rate rent, i.e., they are rent stabilized, rent controlled, Section 8, Mitchell Lama or NYCHA public housing, that makes the market rate apartments much more expensive.
