One of my favorite NVC episodes/series of episodes that Jose did during the Wii U era was a detailed look back at Metroid and Star Fox, going through each game one by one. There wasn’t necessarily anything new coming out associated with them either, just really insightful content that helped me learn a lot. Maybe if the news continues to be slow this year that would be something for the new cast to consider.

Some odd takes this episode. As others like Logan pointed out, Nintendo had major releases nearly every month during Switch’s launch year. And wanting backwards compatibility isn’t new. In Consoles Wars, they go in to detail about Nintendo and Sega both being aware how important backwards compatibility was to their audience. And theme parks are great they just take planning ahead these days.

Scent in videogames has the potential to be amazing. Why the hate? It would obviously have to be done properly, but if it is...imagine smelling the food that Link just cooked up. Imagine Gandalf looking over at Merry and saying "when in doubt, always follow your nose." Imagine a Sherlock Holmes game where you can sniff the clues at a crime scene or know that someone is hiding in the vicinity because you can smell the gunpowder in the air.

There was no lull in year 1 of the switch. There was a constant flow of 1st and 3rd party and indie titles. Plus no one cared about backwards compatibility cuz everyone was ready to move on from the Wii & no one cared about the Wii U. And the U titles we did care about were ported over. Only backwards compatibility we wanted was virtual console

Here is the thing about Epic Universe in Orlando, Super Nintendo World will have a Yoshi's Island ride and DK Minecart Madness ride. US Hollywood does not have those attractions. US Japan and Epic Universe version will be almost identical to each other.

Seth draining the batteries for lithium ion battery devices is not the best way to store them long term. For the best battery health ideally you want to keep it at 30-50% charged and check on it every couple of weeks or so.

On Rebs Mario Universal Take. You cant say you're a normal person, when you work at IGN. The amount if information readily accessible to you on pop culture at your job is hard to beat. Im sure theres a internal spreadsheet or a guide on how to maximize your time at Universal. Also, if youre gonna fly hundreds of miles to visit a theme park why abdicate ownership in looking into how to hit all the highlights at the park? Also theme parks are expensive and only getting more so.

I'm sure IGN provides some insider knowledge on video games, but I'm not sure we can assume it does the same for theme parks. Also while anyone CAN spend tons of time researching how to get the most out of a theme park, that doesn't excuse theme parks for needing that. The fact that theme Disney, Universal, and others are overpriced and require jumping through huge numbers of finicky hoops to properly enjoy is absolutely a valid criticism. The parks should make it as easy as possible for ordinary families to be able to enjoy their time.

11:33. Super Nintendo didn’t play regular Nintendo games. The n64 didn’t play Super Nintendo games. And of course GameCube wouldnt play 64 games. The first Nintendo home console that had backwards compatibility was the Wii being able to play GameCube discs. ( and that was only the earlier models, they had Wii systems without GameCube ports later on) it wasn’t just when they went from carts to discs and back.
