My theory is Kai having a vision that Jay was at the tournament and will never remember and will stay evil, but he also promises that he will help Nya find jay and it seems like anytime Nya mentions Jay, Kai looks away like he doesn't want to tell her or give up hope that he will remember.

One thing that could be in Kai's vision is Evil Jay. That look Kai gave to Nya happened while she was talking about how Jay didn't remembered her in her vision. So maybe Kai had a similar vision to Nya's. Another theory that I like is kind of what happened in Avengers Endgame. Kai saw that the only chance they had was if someone (not necessarily him) would have to sacrifice him/herself in order to win the final battle. I like both of these theories a lot, but I don't know if the first one would make sense, since he haven't told Nya about Jay. Also, if it was the second option, I feel like Doc Wyatt would confirm it, since we already saw the S1P1 final battle during the Blood Moon ritual. But I like this theories quite a lot.

Kai's Worst Nightmare is for Nya merging back with the sea to save all the ninja again because if Nya merge's with the sea again she may never be able to return/is that at the start when kai was out in the merged lands to find the other ninja , he finds out how and why jay lost his memories and that he is scared to tell nya about it/when kai was out in the merged lands to find the other ninja he found out what happened to their parents after the merge and he is keeping it from nya to not let her emotional / he becomes powerless again with no hope of getting his powers back/he becomes corupted and hurts nya/he is scared that jay may never get his memories again leaving nya feeling hopeless and wanting to quit finding jay to not be a burden to the ninja and leave the ninja.
