History
The church dates from the 12th century. Alterations and additions were made to it in the 14th century, and again in the 15th century when the west tower was built. The church was vested in the Churches Conservation Trust on 1 November 1987.
Architecture
It is constructed in sandstone rubble and has a tiled roof. Its plan consists of a two-bay nave with a north porch, a chancel with a roof at a lower level than the nave, a vestry to the north of the chancel, and a west tower.

Thoroughly enjoyed that guys. Beardo was a great temporary addition to the team and had great chemistry with you both. The olde english was always written as an F but pronounced as an S. It makes it hard to read for us though. The camera work and sound was superb and Mark had me in stitches in this one ❤ Saw that you're both saving for a brand new camera so am going to donate a little extra to help with that. Loved having the 3 of you together!!! I haven't read all the comments yet, so if this is already answered, my apologies... in old english writing an "f" was used when the word had a soft "s" sound. This was long before phonics..😂😂 A hard "s" would be in something like "houses" but the the word "hou(f)e, will have the "f" I believe it was like this before 1800's. What an amazing little find in that church! The fact the whole prayer is intact is nothing short of amazing!! Thank you for showing us this!! 10/10 for me gentlemen!💜Jil 💜

When you went outside after you heard someone coming, from 3:45 to 3:49 as you panned the camera around there was something reflective or a light source on the headstone to the right of the frame. BUT, it appeared to have gone when you panned back again.

You may think the word is misspelled, but if you look closer you'll notice that unlike an f the character either has no crossbar or only a nub on the left side of the staff. Though it may seem more like an f, the letter is just another variation of the lower case s. The long s originated in handwriting and was later adopted in typography when printing became widespread in Europe during the Renaissance.😊

Great channel. Really enjoy your videos. In regards to the f’s in old English, It was to distinguish between a hard 's' and a soft 's'. The 'f' represented the soft 's' which is why you will find it spelt 'houfe' and 'houses' in old English texts.

The long S sound in the English language used to be written by an f this started to change in around 1800. Apparently it changed a lot later in the American language. It can be seen still in the German language where a double S is represented by the “Efzett” .

The script is phonetically written, the type of language used in the 16 and 17th centuries. That is an old Catholic Church, The “sink” is the font for holy water and the room by the alter is the chancery or priests ready room. I would imagine that church was originally built in the 1600’s but could be later in 1700’s.

The lowercase "s" was written in that form until around the 18th century - it's not quite a lowercase "f" since the curve does not dip below the line of text. If you look at any text (especially Printed text) prior to the 1700s, including Shakespeare, you'll find the lowercase "s" written in that form - it was still pronounced as "ESS", it's just the way we write it has changed. xx

The long s can be traced back to Roman times, when the lowercase s typical took an elongated form in cursive writing in Latin. According to librarians at the New York Academy of Medicine, people were using the long s at the beginning and middle of words by the 12th century.

Amazing Place...great to see Beardo with you. Love the debunking you guys always do. The plaque in the church is medieval. Probably saved and hidden during the reformation of the churches in the 1500's. Must be a very precious artifact for the Church community there. It's the Niacene Creed ..or what Catholics profess as their faith and beliefs. I PM'd you about the Olde English..it's medieval. Great investigation once again. I love the ones in the churches.
