The mod allows you to walk through the portal instantly without the loading bar or the purple portal surface. It let's you see the nether spawn from the portal and let's you see the end platform from the end portal.

I think it’d be cool if the deep dark portal only opened for players who haven’t slept in 24 hrs, and it’d be the Phantoms’ home dimension. So rested players would see an inactive portal frame, and unrested players would see the portal.

The structure in the Deep Dark isn’t actually a portal, Mojang thought of adding the Deep Dark dimension but they changed their mind and now the structure is a shrine to the Wardens.
