We own a 4000sf "Four Square" home that was built in 1910. We bought it 10 years ago as a "Bank Repo" and have had a ball fixing it back up again. It was more "neglected" than anything, but it was also a "diamond in the rough" just waiting for someone to come along and give it the TLC it deserved. We did all the work ourselves (have done it before on other homes numerous times) and now enjoy it very much. We've purchased "era correct" antique furniture and have it placed throughout the house and people tell us they feel as though they're walking into a lived in "Museum". ;-)

old houses usually have imprints of left energies from previous past owners who lived in that house a long time ago. It requires cleansing those energies especially if its negative.

al roberts I am not superstitious or spiritual AT ALL, however I absolutely agree that some houses that have had prior owners do have energy connected to them. I’ve lived in 2 homes previously that had very bad energy. One almost caused my husband and I to divorce and the other caught fire in a closet just below the gas water heater, thank goodness no one was hurt but I lost a lot of very sentimental family heirlooms.

LoVE It!!!! I love old houses and that price is insane. Who wouldn't want to live in NC. I'm in Texas, My house has a historical landmark on it as most of the houses here in town. On August 10th last month my water heater in the attic broke. That was a nightmare. I know, who would put a water heater in the attic? it was there when I bought the house. Well, Lets get to the good part. Of course the ceiling dry wall and walls in the hallway became completely wet and had to come off. LORD AND BEHOLD!!! Behind the dry wall that was taken down was solid thick wood planks on wall and ceilings. Why would they cover that up? I said. My idea is to continue taken off the dry wall in the hallway and ceiling and painting it white, giving it that cottage feel. This home was built in 1901. It like a ranch house with vinyl siding, wrap a round porch with the same columns as on this video. Also, new communities / newer homes don't have the lot size as the older homes do. Guy's Wish I could share with you pictures of the wood wall and ceiling so you guys could see. Love your videos, Keep posting.

in Australia they want $800,000 for a house like that + interest so the buyer can't sleep for 30 years if all goes alright never sick...and is wife must work 30 years ...too that will make sure they stay in Australia for 30 years a work force guaranty house was around that price in 1985 and wages were $350...now is around $570 clear after tax and houses were $85,000 then 1985 people can't save any money..bill eat all wages rents used to be $75 a week here in Australia in 1984 now they are $1,600...80% of normal wages

Most of the lesser expensive homes are in depressed areas where no one wants to really live.

Or the house might be affordable if not ready to be bullfozed from rot/mold etc, but then the property taxes may be so high that it is not affordable. Often it's why the elderly that are in still decent health but fixed income can no longer afford to stay in their forever homes.

In the 60's 70's carpet was sold as warmth and comfort. Then as the carpet got dirty and we reolized that you can't clean it. And then we see that the old wood foors.

There are a ton of cheap houses in Kansas - tornado alley - but most are not kept up and there are no jobs available in the very small towns. Great for retirees that don't care about immenities or people anyway.

Are you kidding? When was the last time you were in North Carolina? It is a really up and coming state. Lots of growth, lots of progressive people, ideas and employment opportunities. I live in nearby Virginia and despite NC being a southern state, it's pretty nice and many LOVE the climate.

Beauty. Oh my. Wouldnt have to leave home. Each room spend week in. Start over. 😆 Pretty soft color. Oak wooden floors underneath crap carpet. Clean wood with vinegar water keep floors beautified. I had good friend owned Victorian home oak and pine everywhere. She used vinegar. Her house oh my prestine

Oh hell man, if location location location wasn't an issue that's a great house. You buy it and if you have any issues with it you fix those. It's actually easier and cheaper to fix issues over time than spend 400 grand for a house to begin with. A lot of these old homes have character that you and some architect just can't duplicate.
