There are a few pundits (not you) claiming that Liverpool are nowhere near their best yet. I think that misses the point. They aren’t as reckless as they were under Klopp. That’s a good thing, reflected in how little the defence has given away this season. They don’t dominate in attack and the gegenpress like under Klopp, but that’s because of two factors: Risk management and physical load management. Slot is slightly more tactically astute than Klopp and this translates into Liverpool not being as easy on the eye this season, but more than capable of getting the results they need. If they can keep Gravenberch, the CBs and Salah fit, they could go all the way.

Liverpool had a world class side, had pushed City all the way, gone on all sorts of crazy winning runs and had one of the very best managers in the world and he was talking about Utd, managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , "stumbling across a system" and winning it before them. Liverpool promptly won the league the following season winning 27 of their first 28 games and establishing the biggest lead at the top of the PL ever.

Yes the best Liverpool FC channel on KZbin for us Liverpool FC supporters. I have more bad news for you, I know Alice knows Man City are going to get a points punishment this season at the very least. So we have a bigger lead than the five points in the table itself. So it's most likely only Arsenal or Chelsea who are the only teams who can stop us Liverpool FC this season. Now we Liverpool FC won ugly again. I watched our Liverpool FC match and I must be fair here. Now Villa had good moments in the match and had some good chances. Now Conor Bradley is a very lucky lad yesterday, he did pull on a Villa players shirt in the area itself? Which is a very risky thing to do in a match to be very honest here. It could have been given a penalty kick by the VAR on another day. But Villa never took their chances and VAR sided with us this time around. Then Salah punished them late on to make sure of a Liverpool FC win and 2-0 to us at the final whistle.

People need to stop comparing Gravenberch and Endo . They are both different type of midfielders. I'm alright with Endo seeing out games as a sub because he's better defensively . Gravenberch is a really good midfielder and his signature is his fake turns and push forward .. It's so effective because of his body size and strength. It's hard to stop him. Liverpool's squad is really high quality and I think we are just one or two short to compete for all 4 comps. Hopefully we strengthen in the January window.

Again, you are so spot on about everything and your comment about Gravenberch being so consistently good you barely notice is presence, because you are so used to it, is so true. Though he did do his customary last-ditch clearance and strong challenges in the penalty area. Konate? It is not very often you see a CB who can match Van Dyke on a regular of even upstage him on occasions. My biggest and most pleasant surprise is Jones and the speed of his development under Slot. Unlike Gravenberch, it didn't even cross my mind to think it was possible for him to reach this level. I always saw he as a squad player and a league cup starter. What do I know, I'm not as keen eyed and have the understanding of the game like you Alice!

Excellent analysis and I agree with everything you said. That was a very competent display against a well organised and good Villa side. Kelleher has stepped in for Alisson and has been exceptional. He had a very good match yesterday. Jones and Konate were excellent. Bradley had a good game too. As you said, Salah has had season after season where he has been world class. He is one of the best finishers in the world, if not the best. He made his goal look easy whereas it was not. He is a phenomenal player and anyone who doesn’t see that is not being honest.
