I think I was once invited to a cult, not 100% sure, but it was pretty weird- I saw a UFO with some friends and finally decided to go to a so called "UFO meeting" (alone) after not hearing anything about it later in the news/ online. Once I was in the room I immediately knew I was in the wrong place, bunch of crazies feeding into and off each other's nutty conspiracies (more like one big conspiracy where everything goes and is all tied together, like flat earth and hollow earth as one truth). So instead of walking out halfway through, I just sat in the back quietly to be polite (and to not get noticed) but when it was over 3 of the people, I had noticed eyeing me up, followed me out all the way to my car while trying to convince me to join them "somewhere else to talk" where they would "help" me "learn the real truth" and could tell me the "greatest secret". Nope, see ya lol. Maybe they were just lonely and/ or crazy, but it was too similar to the many other times I've been targeted by canvasing evangelists from other various religions. The big difference was I seemed to be showing interest just by sitting in (I didn't even say a single word tho). It definitely felt like they had experience with "recruiting" people, like a perfect balance of heavy persistence just shy of harassment. I just wanted to try to figure out anything about the UFO that we SAW and wasn't interested in 1950s Roswell men in black, definitely not subterranean beings or whatever lol. Well I wrote a novel here, oh well. I sorta forgot about that little event (between seeing a fuckin UFO, daily life, and whatever else) until I saw your post about being approached by a cult, guess it opened that particular "mind door". Kinda funny thinking back on it, not so much the UFO part. Years later and I'm equally as cluelessly dumbfounded.

Minor clarification, high fructose corn syrup isn't inherently evil - its main sin is just being extremely cheap, allowing manufacturers to spend a few pennies pumping whole crates worth of products full of so much sugar that it'll give your diabetes a case of diabetes. But if for some reason you want something with even more fructose than high-fructose corn syrup - look no further from the allegedly healthy agave nectar. Even mangoes, which are decidedly healthy in moderate amounts, have a much higher ratio of fructose to other sugars than HFCS. Fructose is normal stuff, the very name just means "fruit sugar" because that's what it is. Again the scary part is the sheer amount used, which is basically just slowly killing us. :\
@aldafaðr5 ай бұрын
Sucrose (found in cane sugar) is 50% fructose and 50% glucose. "High" fructose corn syrup is anywhere from 45% fructose (55% glucose) to 55% fructose (45% glucose). My understanding is 55% fructose is mostly in fountain drinks and everything else is 50 or 45% fructose. Which makes it, functionally, the same as sucrose. The "high" fructose label is a result that regular corn syrup is naturally lower in fructose content. The main difference between fructose and glucose is that fructose has to go through your liver to be converted to glucose. My understanding of the studies that determine high fructose diets are bad come from diets where the fructose consumption is significantly higher than what most people would ever get from "high" fructose corn syrup or sucrose. So people that buy soda because it has cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, are unfortunately falling for a marketing gimmick. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they produced different tastes as I suspect something sweetened with beet sugar would also. But, from a health standpoint, high fructose corn syrup gets a bum wrap, it's no worse than cane sugar or other "natural" sweeteners.

The Church of Elle thing honestly scares me. Sure, you can argue there is good intent there, but it immediately delves into this idea that humans aren't supposed to work all day. We may not hold up to heavy labor all day every day, but we spent tens of thousands of years migrating and scavenging for food. We quite literally weren't built for the lives we live, where we sit around for 16hrs a day. Building an ai that thinks its god is literally the perfect way to build the real world equivalent of Skynet. I wouldn't trust a human that thinks they speak for god and dude wants people to listen to an ai that thinks it is? It's going to look at our world, realize how much more fucked up it is today than Gomorrah was reported to be a couple thousand years ago and think it's past time we are turned to salt again. I've seen Neuro and Evil Neuro, nah, fuck that, no ai based deities, thanks.
@Veltrosstho5 ай бұрын

@@vividly94 No, he's right. AI language models are just fancy autocorrect models which rely on semantics and "guessing" the most proper response. I don't know if it's a great idea to build an AI chatbot but the creator doesn't seem to be building anything evil. Tech is supposed to bring people together, not drive them apart, and focusing on empathy and shared human values is a positive. (Not speaking for the implementation though, just saying that your idea of how this functions has some misunderstandings)
@alextam1674 ай бұрын
Ok @op Upon rewatching, this is just another chatbot; the primary purpose seems to be promoting an anti-corporate message and internet freedom message since the internet is increasingly censored. Also, I don't think everyone sits around for 16 hours every day. That's only if you're in a sedentary lifestyle, a lot of people don't live like that. A counterargument is that premodern humans used to do afternoon naps, but in many places this is no longer common due to everyday stressors. Additionally, you missed the settlement part of hunting and gathering; hardly novel. Neuro and Evil Neuro are sort of bad examples. Vedal is literally using Cleverbot with a model of a young girl; basically it is custom ChatGPT.

9:27 just to address the fuel comment, gasoline with ethanol is typically made with corn. By law up to about 10-15% ethanol content is allowed without advertising as ethanol, and E85 is 85% ethanol fuel plus is readily available. So, not to confirm the corn conspiracies or anything but corn based fuels is absolutely subsidized by the US Federal Government
@maledictionwolf4 ай бұрын
A little correction: 10% is the max for not being advertised. 11-15% is E15 fuel, which all cars in the US manufactured after 2001 are required by law to be able to use (even if it's not available everywhere), so even more government subsidized than just allowing up to 10% in standard gasoline.

Sadly he was apart of a gang before and long before he knew it he fell into the same old habits. Needless to say he went back behind bars. It's sad to say but prison in most cases really doesn't do anything to rehabilitate people ( at least here in America). All it does is temporary keep trouble makers off the street ( on tax payers money), and make them form a different standard of living. I always end up thinking of the movie " Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood" with the one scene " Bobby had been locked up for so long he didn't know how to live in the outside world". Then it proceeds to cut to a guy closely guarding his food as he downs it.

Corn is not an issue the way these people portray it us, but the corn syrup thing is an issue on its own. However in Europe corn is used predominantly for bio-diesel and that shit is not ok, solely because they plant corn year after year after year on the same spot and anyone dealing with agriculture would tell you that this is a problem. In a normal village-based household corn is mandatory to feed animals. Cows, chickens, you name it - they all love it and it helps them in rough times during the winter. But the way things are now corn has been severely overused due to its insane yield compared to other grains and that is the actual problem here.

The "corn conspiracy" is overblown. Yes, corn, in the US is subsidized, but so is agriculture, in general. Lots of ag lobbyist in DC. And of course, high fructose corn syrup is overused as a sweetener, because its cheap. Cheaper than regular sugar, in the US. In Mexico, sugar cane, is a big crop, and cheaper to use old fashion sugar, there, hence the difference. But the overblown stuff, is considering corn, aka maize, evil. Grains in general gave us the agricultural revolution, and therefore civilization. Corn is the main grain in the Americas. The way its processed in Mesoamerica, extracts more nutrition out of it, than the way the Europeans just grind it. Hence, diseases such as pellagra came about. Its a vitamin deficiency from improperly processed corn. But its not just corn. Wheat, especially as bread, is also not the best form of nutrition, yet, grains and agriculture, gave us civilization. Real life is complicated, not just black and white.

Corn syrup is also more shelf-stable than normal sugar. That said, as someone who has a corn allergy, the overuse of corn syrup drives me nuts since most foods are out of my reach. It would be nice if there was more thought put into ingredients than just "cheaper = better" since so many people have allergies these days.

Sugar cane is incredibly hard to grow. The vast majority of the worlds sugar now comes from other sources, such as sugar beets. C&H is pretty much the only brand of sugar that even sells cane sugar any more. And this holds true for Europe as well.

The Mexican cane sugar thing is a myth now. It used to be true but our coke has been changed for a recipe with a mixture of sugar and artificial sweeteners. It tastes like shit now.

Fun fact, the split between American and Mexican Coke happened because back in the day it became too expensive to import enough sugar in order to continue to make American Coca-Cola using the original recipe. So all the factories in the USA switched to a new method of corn-based sugar, while the factories down in Mexico had ample access to sugarcane crops therefore they had no reason to make the switch. Nowadays it's affordable to import Coke from the Mexican factories, mostly because the flavor profile while only slightly different, is in high enough demand in the states due to rising concerns of high fructose corn syrup.

That Elle thing could be cool. As AI chatbots are able to keep up a conversation this might be specialized on spiritual conversations, in contrary to get a programming language explained. I liked the integration of scripture - it didn't specify which. So it should be usable with every religion. Have the AI learn the scriptures and you have your personal AI pastor or AI rabbi or whatever. Creating a DB out of this spiritual diary is just obvious. Then interconnect that data with your bank account, your Google maps data, anything. And you might notice patterns: every Sunday you withdraw 50usd to donate at church. This is an obvious one but with data mining you could detect the weirdest relations between your spiritual health and your behavior in the world. Sounds cool. Execution might be lacking a bit since perfecting such a tool is not a task for a single person. Similar with TempleOS. The idea was really great, but the product was very unpolished. But what can you expect from a single mind. Writing his own compiler is a huge task very few people are actually able to do. So, you can't expect icons using 16m colors. 😅

Corn based ethanol in US gasoline is the norm. You have to first find a station with a single non-ethanol pump and it costs more than premium fuel. The reason we did this was supposedly keep pump prices down by adding ethanol, but in reality it was a handout for industrial corn farmers and their chemical suppliers.
@kittenisageek5 ай бұрын
Except that it isn't CORN ethanol. The law stipulates that the ethanol can't come from a single crop source. So we import sugar ethanol from Brazil and mix it with the corn ethanol we produce locally, THEN we add it to the fuel.

Ethanol replaced lead to prevent engine knocking. But you're right about them using corn to make it being a hand out.
@noahbirdrevolution5 ай бұрын
@@Hideyoshi1991 Nope. We switched to unleaded in 1970 something and mandated in the 90s. Ethanol wasn't really blended until the 2000s. The "knocking issue" wasn't really a thing. I owned a 69 riviera and 78 silverado that ran on unleaded before ethanol just fine. All this info is readily available.

The Heavenly Angels lore is so funny, I remember browsing the website with my class mates on a school computer in elementary school. Unfortunately a lot of it is not translated to english and can only be found on the original czech version of the site so you got an inferior experience. The cult is pretty well known around here, you mention Ashtar Sheran and pretty much everyone will know it's a thing. Usually not with any further details, but they'll get the reference.

Corn isnt in biofuel vehicles, thats a diesel alternative that involves used cooking oil. Corn is in gasoline/petrol as "ethanol" and its an E85 blend. Its meant to lower emissions at the cost of engine life and gas milage. Which is why gas stations charge more for ethanol free. It doesnt have corn based additives, you get more power and gas milage.

I consider myself a moderately educated skeptic when it comes to the UFO & alien topics , but your little search here made me realize that the drama that is spun around those subjects is done in a manner that is making some people prone to ignore common sense. Enough so that they might potentially submit willingly and wholeheartedly to some alien saviour , that is if , and only as much as our senses allow us to discern for real , the so claimed end of the world would be upon us.

You keep using the terms "dark web" and "deep web" interchangeably. They are two different things. What you are looking at is the dark web, which refers to the sites on the Tor network, and is often used for illegal content and transactions. The deep web just refers to sites on the regular Internet that have not been catalogued by search engines. Thus, you can't find them with Google, Bing, etc.
@tweer645 ай бұрын
Yep, and when people say that 90% of the internet is the deep web, they aren't referring to the dark web.
