Hi Joe, thanks for the kind words. Brass quintet is one of my weaker genres in terms of writing. I've written TONS for marching band, concert band & jazz band - but can count on one hand the number of quintets I've arranged. Thanks for the interest, but probably won't be happening. Not enough hours in the day. 🎺

Hey Mr. B... I’m a retired band director and trumpet player, as well. I love your videos! They are great fun! Can you tell me what video production software you use to put these together? Also, do you use music software like Finale, Sibelius, etc.? Thank you...and keep the videos coming!!

Gerry, I use Apple's Final Cut Pro for video. I'm not an expert at it, but I've learned to do the things I need to do... Music is arranged in "Logic Pro X" and transferred to Finale. I capture the scrolling music by doing a movie screen shot as Finale plays the piece. I export the accompaniment from Logic Pro as an mp3 along with a click track. Works for me. ;) 🎺

A great cover, thanks. I used to busk with this on the trombone - a long time ago! Also I'm very interested in how you get the music scrolling on top of the main video - do you have to format it first with just the music, then re-edit it on top of your playing, or do you format it all in one go?

After I write the parts, I pick a tempo, and have my Finale software play the music in "scroll" setting. As it's playing, I have a screen saver software recording a small window surrounding the Finale window. From there, all I have to do is perform at the same tempo - hence the headphones.

Lo siento, pero tengo que estar en desacuerdo. Creo que casi cualquier melodía se puede tocar con la trompeta. Además, si a alguien le gusta la melodía, tocar algo divertido puede resultar muy gratificante. Si no te gusta, está bien. Hay canciones que no me gustan tampoco. Ésa es una de las cosas que hace que la música sea especial. 🎺
