I highly doubt how much percentage of this dial is hand-made. This isn't a grand feu enamel or porcelain dial.

Nice video! btw. has the white one a misaligned "Audemars Piguet" printing? at 9:40 it looks so when you look at the right side. Also some information, AP changed the bracelets after 2013 (i think it was that year) now the midlinks has this "white" polish reflection which looks nice but not cool as before because before you had a reflection and "glowing" of the bracelet, now its just a white effect (also the brushing is a little different). Its really sad that such high priced watch has so much QC issues.

Jens good observation mate. It hasn’t looked misaligned to me but I’ll have a closer look now and update you. I can’t post photos here but will share a closer shot on my insta. Yeah the dial was changed around 2015 on these ad well but again AP should acknowledge that once asked. I agree, it’s sad that such a high end watch comes with such inconsistency.

I have the same watch from the same year of 2018 and definitely is the white dial so probably there’s more around. I found really beautiful almost change for the new reference but I didn’t.

Do you believe exchanging my gold Daytona for a AP chrono Royal oak steel with the silvery white tappiserrie dial and silvery inner counters also is a good or a very bad idea? I have big respect for Rolex they are solid watches with great history. Sky dweller is one of the most interesting Rolex models. But if you want true horologery you need an Audemars Piguet or a Patek Philippe

About the shade of the dial, are you sure it is not because the lighting setup in this video? You had a warm yellow light on the left, and cool light coming from the right…

In my opinion it's hard to judge it is either a QC issue or product update without AP's clarification.

It’s not a product update because I did contact AP and they confirmed it’s not changed. I have seen watches produced after mine and before as well, and they were all the same but different from mine. Don’t think it’s a quality issue either. Even if it is, I love mine :)

@@HafizJMehmood thanks for the reponse. This seems to be a common answer but I am curious why that is. The dial seems to pop more on the 15400. Is it primarily due to the size and form factor? Or is the fit and finish of the 39mm actually better?

15202 is very, very balanced. The dimensions and aesthetics coupled with its lightness of weight and thinness make it not one of the, simply the best. I’d even go out to say that 15202 is a better watch than 5711. 15400 is lovely and I prefer it over 15500 but it looks off when you put it next to 15202. I own 15400 and I intend no harm, but 15400 almost looks like a fake Royal Oak when you put it next to 15202.

I like your vídeos a lot...and better since you change the music...however seems to me that your love for this ap15400 make you omit the 2 mayor flaws of this timepiece...asymmetry in the swiss made position in the dial...and that when you push the crown the minute hand moves and lose the position sometimes Up to 2 minutes... Its a beautiful timepiece...but...

Wow very interesting find, I always thought AP should make the royal oak in a white dial.. I’m very happy with the silver reflective dial, but that white dial is absolutely stunning.. you are very lucky to have that one off, I wonder if there are anymore out there with the same white dial?

Thanks so much for watching and leaving the comment. To be honest, I have researched this a lot and no, there are not many white dial 15400 out there especially with the reflective coating. Until 2015, they used to do white dial but without any reflective coating on it. Those dials look very flat white like the one on 15300. Mine is white but had reflective white texture. Absolutely love it.

Pedro Castro i know that it makes it look like it’s because of different lighting. I didn’t realise when I was shooting the clip until quite recently. The yellow lamp was really the cosmetic look to added to all my videos sometime ago but in this one, it just spoiled the message unfortuantely. I did show some photos from natural lighting and room light as well with these watches side by side so the difference is definitely there. Also, in my later video I have stopped using yellow light so it doesn’t cause confusion. Apologies if it didn’t help but feel free to visit my Instagram where I’ve shown many photos of these side by side in many different lighting. Above all, if you don’t believe what I say in my videos, then I just don’t know how to prove my point :) Thanks for watching and the feedback.
