Here’s the story behind Kirby 64. Dark Matter and their leader Zero have returned to plunge the universe in darkness and possess everyone. They attack Ripple Star, home of the fairies and only Ribbon (the pink hair fairy) escapes The crystal shards are needed to defeat Dark Matter so Kirby, Ribbon, Waddle Dee (Who is speculated to later become Bandanna Dee), King dedede and Adeleine(the artist) set out to find them. (Also Shiver Star is a frozen Earth where all humanity (except Adeleine) are dead, which is why she’s so afraid) They collect the shards, kill miracle matter (the many sides dice guy), free Ripple Star and if you collect all the shards in 100%, purge Dark Matter from the queen (girl who got zapped in the behind) and fight Zero. Zero has always been a giant eyeball but in this game he has transformed into Zero 2. With wings, a halo, a cactus tail and a lot of blood. Kirby uses the shards to kill the dark god and the universe is freed.

In this game, Kirby can swallow one enemy to gain a power and then toss that power at another enemy to make Combo Abilities. Cutter combined with Spark creates a double sided Lightsaber. Others include Bomb and Bomb making a triple missile cannon, Fire and Cutter making a flaming greatsword, and Ice and Spark making a fridge Also, Zero Two, the scary white angel looking thing has a neat detail a lot of people miss. The red part on their wings can’t be rendered properly on the Nintendo 64, but the official art shows that it’s actually mass clusters of exposed nerves and blood vessels. Zero Two is also known to cry blood at you, he’s I think the peak of Kirby horror.

so to answer you what about bandana waddle dee, and the fairy girl getting shot bandee is a character in the kirby series that first appeared in both super star and its remake, but didn't play any major roles until kirby's return to dreamland. bandee isn't his real name, but it was considered at some point so some kirby fans just call him that, his official name is "bandana waddle dee." anyways, it was a popular theory that bandee was the same unnamed waddle dee that shows up for kirby 64 (the only waddle dee in the game, as well as the only waddle doo). it was basically confirmed during adaline's reveal trailer for kirby star allies, so now it's a theory that kirby gave him the bandana in the original game, the queen of the fairies was possesses by 02, and if you collect every crystal shard, the crystal reforms and shoots a laser at her butt, casting out 02 and letting you access the true final boss. for this animation, they're just cheering her death because it's out of character for all of them to do that, so it's funny
