[Incident evaluation log - 04 Codename: Green Eye] Incident summary: Casualties: 0 Injuries: 0 Property damage: Wall damage of yet to be determined cost. Exterior sensors registered a change in the SMars landscape at 4 AM SMars base time. The recorded data indicates that the object previously contained in a cavern beneath the monolith began breaking to the surface in the middle of the night, however the exterior sensors registered this change only after the glowing parts of the object were exposed to the surface. This shows the exterior sensors have to be updated to allow the input and recording of extended light spectrum. Cameras operating in a different light spectrum would not only allow for preliminary site research, but also enable us to detect phenomena which the researchers are unable to confirm on their own. Prior to this incident an alien device was removed from a cavern where the floating object was previously located, its removal may be linked to the floating object's movement. The object was investigated after a researcher noticed the change on the sensors and an updated PMED was sent out to execute the investigation remotely. The floating object or "The Eye", as it was dubbed by the researcher, seems to contain its radiation only in close proximity of the central part. This glowing "core" seems to have a positive effect on the plant life accompanying it, enabling it to survive the exposure to the mars surface. Some of the present plant life seems to be directly connected to the radioactive core, either due to it containing the source of nutrients for the plant or the core and the roots being a single organism. While the Eye is radioactive in close proximity, it currently presents only a potential threat to the base. Other issues are more pressing, unless the situation progresses. A series of stones bellow the Eye seem to be arranged in a way which resembles some form of script, indicating the Eye may be intelligent. If this is confirmed then this incident is a first official contact with this species. I strongly advise not to take hostile action or destructive research, which may also be interpreted as a hostile action, as this may put the base at risk. This warning should be heeded until the nature of the floating object can be determined or the base comes under direct threat from the object. Counter actions out of panic should lead to severe punishment in this instance, to make sure the appropriate solution is carefully considered. Following the investigation, several weapons were added to the peripheries of the base and a Securitas MDS was installed on the high ground near the base. However, even at this height the MDS is potentially threatening the base communication devices and sensors extending from the roof as well as the newly installed observation tower. The MDS may require an additional support structure or appropriate relocation, to make sure no damage is done to the base on accident. Several plasma cannons were installed on top of the default structure solar panels, leading to their sub-optimal efficiency. This can lead to potentially poor stability of the turrets if the base is damaged and reduction of the lifetime of the base energy reserves. It may be rectified by the removal of the panels or relocation of the turrets to a more suitable or a dedicated spot. While testing and installing the new defence systems, damage to the outer wall of the garage building was noted by a researcher. This damage should be fixed before it leads to a breach and the origin of this damage should be investigated immediately. Additional security concerns: The base still lacks a proper renewable energy option, a battery energy reserve should be installed in addition to the generators, enabling the base to operate in case both options become unavailable. The new data from the SMars base ground stability tests indicate that there should be no structural issues with multiple floor buildings and if further space is needed the current structures will be able to support additional floors for the base. Four floors are the recommended maximum until gravimetric tests are taken to ensure there are no caverns bellow the base.

As the creator of the Securitas MDS, I'm so glad you like it! That thing took me sooo long to create (particularly the logic systems). Also, a brief note, the Securitas MDS shouldn't ever aim directly at the base (unless you go super high up), as it always aims as high as it can go. I'm super happy that it managed to make it into a video, and I'm hoping I can continue to impress in the future! PS: Love how the series is going so far, the lore is great, and this community is doing such a fantastic job!

To label the hallways that have the same color that go into different directions you can make black dashes painted separating the current color. So if it's yellow, you can make a section of blocks yellow then a section of blocks black and so on and so forth. As well for the other hallways that have the same color but go different ways

I think what you could do to signify different parts of the base is to have strips of color in the hallway where the color is instead of one bold color, therefore you could route that line to that specific branch or hallway where that color is bolder and the same goes for the other branch(s).

In hind sight. Due to the fact that lag increases as the complexity of the base increases maybe you consider making the wings separated instead of interconnected hallways between everything. You could instead have small personnel rovers to move between the the different "pods" where you could have some like the transport pod where ships and vehicles are able to reside. Then each pod can have it's own storage sized to it's demand. I suggest this because I don't think disconnecting them and trying to cover up the seam will work.

You can have more than one paint line on a single wall that then split ways when you meet a junction where one of the colors goes a different direction. There was something like this in Black Mesa from Half Life where they had multiple lines on the walls to provide directions.

Add maybe an aircraft bay with fighters to shoot down incoming threats, as well as bombers to take out ground targets. Maybe even some sort of deployable super cannon you can control from the base, as well as some sort of deployable satellite with some sort of laser on it. Before, it might have been overkill, but as I said before, as things get worse, we are gonna need these things more and more. Also, a satellite laser just looks cool. Also, you should probably check out that damaged satellite. I think we have another thing to worry about. Before, the alien drone thing had not been released into the air, so it wasn’t destroyed by that. Neither did the green crystal (now an ‘eye’), because it was stuck in the cave, and didn’t let off anything close to enough radiation to affect the satellite. It also couldn’t have been the monolith, which depending on behavior seems very unlikely. If it wasn’t those three (known) things, what caused the loss of connection to the satellite?

So if a corridor goes to two different places you could just get a like a wall of each color like where the vehicle garage thing was you could make the whole left side red while you keep the whole right side orange, that way you easily enter and now which wall to follow to go where you want. And btw the turret is so cool! But you could make a base for it so it doesn't look so mismatched with the environment.

Future reference is needed to ascertain the level of danger the site researcher, designation :ScrapMan, has released. Hey ScrapMan, i wanna told you something that i didn't now that could be possible for Scrap Mechanic's physics (not that important in the series) but you can do a 1x2 bearing, using 2 bearings and putting 2 blocks connected with both bearings, connecting the two of those into a seat and both facing in the same direction.

Scrapman, I have an interesting idea in regards to the alien device, the small pink drones, eye formation, the strange alien language found near said formation, and possibly the monolith. The idea is that both the monolith, the eye thing, and the language are all from the same "race" and are more of a trail. And they are not "hostile" unless attacked, and are kind of a "defense" against a stronger and more dangerous race of aliens. The first way to pass the trial would be to translate, understand, and solve the language that was placed near the eye formations. One you have solved it, you would need to give a reply via the base towards the eye. once done, the eye would create some kinda sound that would then have the monolith morph into a sort of weapon that would attach itself to your base and would act like the "Securitas MDS" but would be much smaller in size, have a 360 range of motion, yet powerful enough to destroy a moon at full strength. Or The monolith could be a key to help terraform the planet. Either way I think it would be a cool idea if they were connected some how and had no hostile intentions.
