This is one of the best series that I've watched in a long time. And I love Ruyi and the emperor's characters. It was always sad that the emperor aways seem to punish Ruyi for some reason but he loved her the most. The emperor just didn't want to admit his faults and in the end, he he ended up being alone.

He was a weak man it would seem who was easily deceived or like Ling said she learned some of her ways from him. He was too stubborn, ill tempered and acted like more of a follower under his mothers orders and the fear of angering his father to think for himself as a youth so when his time came he couldn't be decisive.
