It is a public profession of faith and discipleship. In the waters of baptism,being submerged,a person says, wordlessly,"I confess faith in Christ; Jesus has cleansed my soul of sin, and now I have a new life of sanctification". Why is Jesus Christ always depicted as a muscle-less, somewhat effeminate, frail, ultra-thin person ?? He was a carpenter with his stepfather, Joseph , and at that time, carpenters also worked with stone. Men in the building trades are not always muscle-less, frail, thin-bodied, but more often more muscular and masculine. Why wouldn't the Son of God look like God's idea of pure masculinity ? I guess it's just another influence and lie of Satan to make Jesus Christ look feeble and frail. It's sickening.
