Not really. People who think that sharks never attack humans because they know, are wrong because they just choose not to attach until they do. They are just as smart as dolphins and much more aggressive and territorial. People telling us that are really trying to help us feel safe in an environment that WE HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN. Yes it's worth exploring and with learning, however people really don't know 90% of the ocean that they claim to and that includes any marine life that they think they know when they clearly and obviously do not. Sharks did attack a squad of soldiers in WWII and they couldn't otherwise 'think it was a seal' because of lack of light. So no, this is actually more accurate than people really want to admit.

@@Openreality Sharks are not as smart as Dolphins. Sharks are fish, cartilaginous fish which makes them a less evolved form from "Boney" fish. Dolphins are mammals, not fish, and have a larger brain with a lot more sophistication to it. Cetaceans, which Dolphin are, use echo location. Sharks do not. Sharks do have a more developed sense of "smell" and electro-sensory organs. Which means they can "smell" a small sample of blood in the water column and follow it to its source. Or can sense the electromagnetic field of an animal within proximity. Sharks are opportunistic hunters and will bite/sample something to see if it is edible. The do not go out of their way to attack humans. You have to appear to be a food source (splashing around like a wounded fish, blood in the water, be in low visibility or at dusk when they hunt). Yes, some species of shark are territorial and/or can display aggressive/territorial behavior if they fell threatened. The incident in WWII you mention was the U.S.S. Indianapolis. She was torpedoed and went down. There were a lot of hurt sailors (blood in the water) in the ocean and Tiger sharks, along with others like Oceanic White Tips, were attracted and attacked the men in the water. One of the worst incidents to happen. I have a degree in Marine Biology, have dived with different marine animals including sharks, and was also a Scuba Instructor for 15 years. So I've got a bit of a clue about the Marine environment and the animals within it.

Most shark movies, especially more recent ones, start with friends getting together, have a night of drinking etc, head to an island, one of them gets hurt (whether at the island or while getting there), they try rushing to shore to get help and get her to hospital, they crash the boat, they become shark bait. That's the plot to most of the shark movies I've seen lately. Except for Shark Alley....that one was actually really good. The sharks, as well as shark attacks, look real. I was impressed with that one. I love sharks (understatement. I'm obsessed with them) and we've got shit tons of them all along our WA coast here in Australia and, although it's been hot asf so people are flooding the beaches/rivers, there's barely any attacks. A few...but nowhere NEAR as many as there could be. Big 4.5m tiger sharks and white pointers are among those sharks and VERY close to shore. One lone surfer had a big fin quickly coming towards him then saw a 3.6m great white "propel" itself out of the water towards him but he was left alone. It was after the tuna swimming around him. Another guy had a big tiger shark brush passed his leg then carry on its way. Beautiful creatures and nowhere near as bad as the media portrays them. Long story short-ish, sharks are awesome and I always HATE the survivors in these movies killing them. No matter how many people it eats, let the shark live dangit😆. (SPOILER ALERT) Cage Dive was one movie no shark dies and seeing as the main 3 characters are fucking annoying asf, it makes the sharks living even better. Edit - fuck that's long🫤. Sorry😏

@@jesseoliver6457 it's enough to hear the story of USS Indianapolis or someone like Simon Nellist to understand these are wild animals looking for a meal (although why was that guy training in an area known for great whites it's a question best left unanswered). They are certainly not evil, but if they're hungry and they want to eat you, you're done. The "they don't like human meat" is BS. And I agree, killing sharks because one attacked people in the water is beyond stupid.

@jesseoliver6457 I've seen The Shallows and liked it. For a movie that's shot in one location (mainly🤔. It's been a while so can't really remember the whole thing), has one main character and barely any dialogue, it really is a well done piece. I cringed more at her skimming along the reef than when the shark bit her. It made me shudder🫨. I've sliced my foot open on dried oyster shells on a reef before and it was agonising. Burnt like hell. Bled like hell too. The seagull (which everyone's calling Steven Seagull😆) is awesome and I was stoked the cute lil' bub lived. The drunk dude that was going to steal her shit pissed me off but he got payback. So...yeah. I saw, I liked👍🏻.
