Twinkie Clark Queen of the Hammond Organ. Writer, producer, arranger. These harmonies are her doing. She's brought gospel music to a more contemporary place in her time. She was considered a musical revolutionary at the time. Musical genius. That's who's on the organ. The incomparable Twinkie Clark. They are all talented in their own right and Karen is a great writer also.

“Twinkie” Clark is the main one that wrote and arranged all of the Clark sisters songs. She is the one who plays the organ and does the ridiculous low notes. Twinkie’s other nickname is queen of the B3 Hammond organ because her crazy skills on the organ is so admired in the gospel industry. The Clark sisters blend and vocal training is credited to their mother Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Karen Clark Sheard is the lead singer in this song just fyi. I have admired their careers my whole life. Even now Karen’s daughter Kierra Sheard is another one of my favorite artist. My heart is happy to see this type of love for them.

I came back here to leave my comment. I took everybody's advice and watched the Finally Karen live DVD. I just meant to go and listen to the one song and ended up watching the whole hour and 15 minutes she just captured my attention one song after the other and seeing Kiera sing with her mother was an awesome experience I think you should take everybody's advice and listen to it the whole album through. I think you would enjoy it. The updated version of Jesus is Love was great the sisters gave a more jazzy version that I enjoyed also. You had Karen, Twinkie, Dorinda and Jackie they all were awesome

Darrel Coley, the Winans brothers, Pastor Mortan, PJ Mortan Jr., Todd Daloney, John Legand, Maxwell, Commission singer, Richard Smallwood, Lionel Richie…all male singers from 80s -2000, also Clark sisters mother Mattie Moss Clark were they got their beginning an a amazing journey… there so many early gospel singers that many new singers get there sounds from… continue listening and learning.

So these are pretty normal run of the mill gospel runs. I have been listening to gospel music my entire life. Daryl Cooley has some impressive runs, this version of Jesus is a love song has some serious Rev. James Moore (look him up seriously) vibes. I know why everyone is suggesting the Finally Karen version 1st because that's actually the most recognizable version and 2nd the entire arrangement is different. Fun fact they all can change singing in alto, soprano, and tenor all of them can they talked about it. Karen also has this very unique thing she can do with her voice you may get a kick out of in a song called " He Loves Me"

I love your reactions. They're so sincere and genuine. You can tell you truly love music. I love your critique. Just a note. Singing with others comes with having an ear to anticipate music movement instinctually. I'm a 3rd generation performer. I grew up thinking everyone could hear blend and harmonize naturally. Not lol didn't find that out until I was put into my high school choir. If you get a chance listen God's Property "Stomp" LP we where a group of people that came together as community choir that had an instant chemistry. I think you will enjoy the singing and arrangements.

Lesage Singing, if you dont react to another version of this song again here on your channel, I recommend that you at least (on your own time), listen to the live, recorded video version of "JIALS," featuring the Clark Sisters (not just Karen). You really get a chance to hear Twinkie Clark's amazing vocal abilities (and Dorinda Clark's unique voice as well). A live band accompanies them and there is a background choir (directed by acclaimed gospel choir director and legend himself, Donald Lawrence). If you thought Karen held the note in the video you reacted to... you haven't seen anything yet. The video I'm speaking of, is the only one of that song with 2M views (so you know specifically which one I am talking about). AND you hear the complete song from beginning to end. In my opinion, this adds musical dimension, emotional impact, and a different vibe to the song. My last point - is that the Clark Sisters are somewhat older in the other video I am talking about (than the one that you reacted to). In my opinion, their voices are stronger, and their sound is richer and fuller.

Gospel isn't exclusively Black. Martha Munizzi has done quite well in this genre. And The Martin's, though not this kind of gospel, are really good and worth a listen. Great blending and excellent acappella songs.
