Feels like Tocchet choosing sides against petey in favor for miller. Tocchet wants petey to be miller and he's not. Tocchet always scrambling lineups, if they are working or not. He doesn't believe in "chemistry". I think the miller thing, but also tocchet is on Millers side, is really getting into peteys head.

with all due respect, were the canucks winning when Petey was only scoring 66 points per season under Green and Boudreau? He was playing his "creative and inspired game" back then when the canucks were consistently at the bottom of the league. Pettersson is a crybaby, he has horrible body language and is hot and cold. He's not built like the tradtional brute forward you need to go deep in playoffs and to absorb hits that could cause injury. He's fragile.

That last year he was here he broke all kinds of records and took us through the playoffs to the championship. Now SHL is not the NHL but I feel like he could become a monster in the NHL if handled properly. But yeah maybe he is too soft for the NHL. I just think many like him have succeded there before with the right circumstances.

Pettersson all it takes is a shove to his back and he falls over. His skating has gotten worse...i think the wear and tear will start showing real soon if it hasnt already.

Tocchet has to start to bare more blame here he himself said he doesnt want shots on net if they arent worthwhile shots on net, the skills guys are so regimented they dont look like skill guys any more, petterson and hoggie more than most. This team spends so much time back checking and defending its like theyve lost the confidence to attack, tochets system doesnt work if the defence cant move the puck and the forwards cant sustain pressure

Interesting point. I watched the Habs game last night and they shoot at every opportunity. They almost always outshoot their opponents. Needless to say, they won again last night. Sometimes those shots lead to deflections or lucky bounces that end up in the back of the net.

Hockey 101 -- a shot on net results in either a goal, a rebound or an offensive zone face-off, or in the worst case it's brought out of the ozone as it does when they don't shoot! 14 shots on net is unacceptable, especially with a 'weaker' goalie.

There's too much blame given to the forwards. The defense are brutal down and low, and (other than Hughes) have a hard time on their break outs. They dont join the rush, and cant do anything but dump in the corners or try a slapshot that is usually blocked when trying to keep it in the O-zone. Tough to win games if playing shorthanded offensivelly whenever Hughes is on the bench. Looking the wrong way by pointing finger at EP and JT and trading them. Until they get another Defence and Hronek comes back... gonna be more of the same.

Every coach has their go to player, for Rick its JT, for Bruce its EP40 and the results show that. My guess is management is going to trade Petey and he'll become a 90-100pt player for the entirety of his new contract and we'll be stuck with an aging grumpy JT Miller who will probably have only 1 more 100pt season left in him, who other than last year was a defensive liability for his entire career.

Everyone's saying "the offense isn't generating", or "it's not the offense, it's the defense", or "it's the coach", or "it's the Petey Miller drama", or "it's the Vancouver media", or "it's the weather", or "insert new excuse here", but the truth is that they're all kind'a right and the formula just isn't working right now because it's a bit of all of the above, and most of the less than gritty and not so energetic or overly skilled pieces of the team seem to have just given up on the season already, and given how the year's gome and how it contrasts with last year as they really haven't been able to catch a break, it's kind of understandable that they're spiritually demotivated. But, still, there's definitely a bit too much for the players to handle on their own and it looks like they're lacking the too down experience and leadership fortitude to grind through it and get back in the 'W' column. They have to decide at thus point wherher a push for and in the postseason would even be worth it, or if they need to reassess and work on building a more robust core that'll be able to compete next year. Alas, patience and foresight have never been anywhere in this organization's skillset and fortes.
