I tried this wrapping style, and immediately i lost 10kg of strength at the top range of motion. Great advice of simulation of real match scenario, thanks rino, i m also following a training program similar to ur 3 day program.

rino, why do you prefer posting (rocking motion) instead of strict elbow flexion & drag (hammer curl) as backpressure?
@rinomasic7274
@rinomasic7274 Жыл бұрын
Because it is a more correct move that draging. The rocking motion not only simulates a toproll much better but it also strengthens your back pressure a lot more :) But that doesn't mean that I don't do flexion back pressure 😅

@@rinomasic7274 It kinda allows you to lift more weight compared to the basic back pressure (single wrap), but fixes the issue that the double wrap had (where most of the pressure is on your wrist)

@Alex.McManus

Not really the case with an adjustable cable machine?
@rinomasic7274
@rinomasic7274 Жыл бұрын
It is the case because if you adjust the pulley and put it high, you will only have the pressure going in one spot, and you will be doing only one motion. When you do it like I showed in the video, you get the full range of motion of a back pressure exercise, and you don't lose any pressure where you come to a 90° angle :) Hope you understand what I was trying to say 😅

I tried it .. i lifted around 5 to 6 kg more than what i normally lift .. i think because this excercise attackes the hand much less than the normal one where the loop is only on the hand .. what do u think rino?
@yorumcu31

@adelali8912 Жыл бұрын
@@yorumcu31 he is comparing it with his old way of doing it .. which is a loop on the wrist and a loop on the hand .. im comparing it with the way i used to do it .. which is like most of the armwrestlers .. just one loop on the hand .. and the way he is doing it puts less pressure on the hand .. thats why i lifted much more ..
@OldManArmStrength
@OldManArmStrength Жыл бұрын
I feel like I can lift a little more as well using this method other than the loop through the hand. Problem with the loop through the hand is that is tires out the riser and you don't have full strength with it later when you need to work specifically rising because the elbow flexor is roasted. I just started isolating everything and doing this method to keep the hand fresh for the most weight overload for pronation and rising.

Can someone provide a counter point to this. Probably 95%+ of people are not limited by their riser in a regular singular judo strap placed over the hand for back pressure. So this method which places load on the lower strap just takes away additional training benefits the athlete could be achieving with the standard method. Sure you can train riser on its own and you most likely should, taking it away if it’s not a limiter doesn’t make sense to me. No strength athlete generally tries to isolate muscle activation when it comes to sport specific movements. There is more efficiently with neuromuscular gains when working multiple muscles at once in synergy.
@yorumcu31
@yorumcu31 Жыл бұрын
Can you be elaborate? You think working with only riser better? So you don't need to wrap these tho connection points,?
@condottiero3466
@condottiero3466 Жыл бұрын
Using the "standard" method of placing the strap in one's hand to also work their riser WOULD be a hindrance if the amount of weight lifted was limited by someone's riser vs the strap placement that Rino is showing here, since the whole goal is to STRENGTHEN one's posting backpressure. Example: If someone's 1RM for the "standard" strap placement was 30 kg and their 1RM for the strap placement shown here was 50 kg, they'd be better off using the latter setup (the one highlighted in the video) for strengthening their post which is what both movements aim to do with the riser only being marginally stimulated in the former setup. Also, having a strong post doesn't always necessitate having a strong riser depending on someone's style (think low-hand toproll), hence the focus on isolation.
