I left California a few years ago. I was born there in the 50s & my mother in the 20s & my grandfather was even one of the firefighters out of the La Placita historic firehouse. People were hired based on what they were skilled at. I lost my teaching career from LAUSD for being white despite having the experience & a masters degree & working on my doctorate. My children & husband are Native/hispanic. I couldn’t afford to send them even to a JC. We owned a home for 25 years & couldn’t then keep up with the mortgage & increasing taxes. I feel we were predominately replaced by anyone who was not an Angelino & especially if you were not considered a minority. The governors have all played political games with the taxpayers monies to enrich themselves by creating deep pockets hidden behind social justice programs. LA politics have been scandalous. We even had 2 mayors in LA suburbs that were illegal, but qualified under the umbrella of being a minority. I am sick what these thieves & haters have done to my home.

The fires are horrible. Why do the cities, and home owners remove the extremely flammable bush from around the homes? Or how about keeping the bushes a certain distance from the homes, and change the landscaping materials to drought resistant types, stones, grass and other items. That will take a lot of work and money, but in the long run it may save people's homes.

Back in the late 90's I lived in central California and we had a flood. It boarded on Yuba County and Sutter County, people were stranded. Standing on car rooftops and on the roofs of their houses yet rescue boats weren't let onto the water for hours due to bureaucracy.

Those truck inspections should have not happend considering they were out of water in the cali tanks....screw their governing when they cant even run it. The only upside to the cali fire is there was prolly alot of trash burning....but the air after that...omg...i hope scheming stops for long enough for recovery of a once as a "whole" metropolis city.
