A POV camera with display goggles, like some drones, would make doing long-range cutting much easier than trying to squint. The camera could be mounted somewhere further back on the chassis so you can see the edges of it, to make good rows.

its all crap unless its affordable. 4 grand for this is crazy. i could mount a couple motors on a regualar lawn mower and remote for a few hundred, all this tech is stupid the way they are going about it, also none of these things should be fully battery operated, thats also stupid. the battery tech is not safe to store in a garage or shed,

It would be cool if the battery cover was also a solar panel that could recharge the battery. I think I'll wait until someone makes a robotic / remote controlled reel mower, for those of us that want a low mow.

Great review! What is the MAX range away from the controller? I have a DJI FPV drone with goggles and plan to tape it down to the top and use the camera to drive it. Cheers!

That's a great idea. I don't know what the max range is, but as you saw in my review, it got so far away that you would not be able to see what you're doing. So taping a drone to it to use it's camera is a great idea.

Great machine and it mows your average suburban yard like a beast. I wanted to Mow with the back cover up, however when I use bungi to lift back cover up I get the "back cover error code with red bar." How do you get the mowrator to operate with back cover up no bag?

Well, mine is a prototype because I was a beta tester, and I never upgraded the firmware. The original menu let you turn off the sensors. Is there no option for that now? And this is also why I can control it so far away. Mine will also stay running completely upside-down. :)

@@Something2LookAt There is an option to turn off ultra sensors. However I see nothing in the menu pertaining to the sensor for the back cover.

it looks like the only thing it's missing is a camera so you can see it's point of view from the remote. they could do all kinds of cool things with this like make one with tank tracks or a fully auto one like a roomba sort of thing for your yard. i remember in a 12 or 13 year old issue of make magazine someone converted a traditional gas push mower into an rc mower like this one.

They are working on making an autonomous version that will mow all by itself, and they are working on the camera idea. Stay tuned, these things will happen! And yes!, that was all of our dreams back in the 70's and 80's, making a remote controlled lawn mower. It's finally here! It is very good and very fun!

Yes, it can be down with the mulch plug installed. It's a 3-in-1 mower, bag, mulch, or rear discharge. You're talking about mulching.

It's just like any other mower, it can get clogged up under there. But the good thing about this electric mower is that it can get wet.

C2 button does a reset, like if the sensors stop it or it's otherwise confused somehow. Sets it back in action. Doesn't happen often.
