Great job - very well done. I really enjoyed watching you put it together. One of the reasons why I'd also have a regular push mower is that I need to get all the exercise I can - pushing a mower around would be a good workout! I know as I pushed plenty of mowers when I was younger! Then we got a lawn tractor with a 48" swath... then we sat pretty and I didn't get as much exercise except when I went around with the push mower to touch up the edges. Well done, sir! I commend you!

Good idea on your part! I was thinking if he could somehow tap off the gas engine to spin an alternator to keep those lead acid batteries topped off and make it more self-maintaining. No big deal to pop it on the charger after a day's cutting, though.

Nice, i had this ideal for years and years, never did it though. I also think it would be great to install memory chips to record your commands and this way once you have it record the way you want it to be mowing your lawn by it recording your movements(commands from your remote) hit the save button and then now next time the lawn needs mowing you just hit the automatic button and it will use that recording of commands and follows it the exact way you mowed it. This way you don't have to sit there and control it every last time you use it. But it will probably need some kind of homing device so it can be sure it is still aligned. A device that checks the distance x and y to make sure it is still aligned to your programmed saved commands in the real world. I have this ideal for those AI mowers. I think the AI mowers make the lawn look like shit riding in circles and back and forth over the same grass, etc...instead have a remote and steer the thing how you want it to be mowed, and then hit save. Now the AI don't have to pretend it is a genius, it can just follow your commands. But like i said it still needs to know it is on track in the real world by checking its x and y coordinates with the commands and make sure they match.

Just my 2-cents as an uneducated individual with 0 experience in this sort of thing (though a massive interest). Would the bigger tires not be better placed at the front on the same motor and then a single tire on the rear that controls direction so that you dont have a scenario where you may give un-equal speed and can properly go straight?

That's a really trick machine, dude. I think a trio of vidcams would do the accuracy some real good. One to back up, one on each of the front wheels to guide the cutting row accuracy, with a switch to change channels = you're sweet. What was the cost of goodies sans the mower deck? How long do the 3 batteries last? Does anyone know of a spray or coating which can make the deck less sticky to cut grass pieces?

Why not put some type of alternator to recharge battery when the engine is running?
@InfinityGarage-ig8py8 ай бұрын
I used a motor with a battery charging function. Charging is from a coil and is much too weak to meet the current consumption, but significantly lengthens the work. The test I did was carried out without taking breaks for charging,
@AJVAN_8 ай бұрын
@@InfinityGarage-ig8pyGot it. But still as a side project belt driven alternator would work. The engine seems powerful enough to meet the demand of both nowing and charging

You welded up the deck and made it a 100% Mulcher, but then didnt install a mulching blade? isn't it going to wad up with grass and shut down?
@irwincw8 ай бұрын
He did install as mulching blade, you can see the notches on each side of the blade. The problem is you're only supposed to mulch down a quarter length of the grass at a time that's why it's bunching. After this mow he can do it more often and it will mulch well.

I won't hide the fact that my electrical and wiring skills are quite poor. I connected everything using the instructions that came with the RC controllers. The engine was equipped with an electric starter and battery charging, so it made my work much easier, the only thing I improved was to add a current fuse to the connection of each regulator, and I used a main switch which I connected to the relays :)
