Around here it's the opposite. Though we have yard guys to do the yard, I trim trees, clean gutters inside and out, clean mildew from two houses and garage, clean all the concrete, pull weeds from the gardens, and the list goes on....this morning, hubby told me I need to take the day off. But I need to bathe the dog before the rain comes. These videos inspires me to get up and move. Just like when I watch Hoarders. I get up and clear out the attic and closets and drawers. I've been known to clean the fridge during the commercials. I don't have OCD, I just like to see things cleaned, and not burdened by things we don't need, use or want anymore. And, when I use to be hung up on cooking and baking videos. My worst fear was making bread. I've overcome that and can make any bread I want. I just love staying busy. Btw, I'm 68 years old, and realize one say I will have to slow down. But till then.....:)

I do enjoy watching a lot of these videos with guys with their lawn businesses and they're doing the different jobs. One thing that I noticed is that a lot of the guys they'll edge if necessary then mold and then weed eat or trim last. I like the edge and weedy first and then the mowing to be the the next thing and finally use the blood to make everything nice and neat. It might be just me but I like weeding and edging first that way I can walk to yard and while I'm trimming can look at anything in the yard that that needs to be addressed like a hose stumps cause toys all kind of things that might get covered up if I'm mowing

Love watching these videos also, I think a lot of people would have just cut the weeded lot without that much thought about the neighboring property. awesome attention to detail.
@Something2LookAt8 жыл бұрын
Thank you. As for your question, a Cheetah would be overkill for just 2.5 acres, but it would last forever, that's for sure. Smooth ride on the Cheetah too. The platform where you sit is on a spring. It just comes down to what you like. You'd certainly have bragging rights on your neighbors!

So two yards side by side mowed at different heights. The tall one looks good the short one looks bad. Do you think raising the cutting height of the short yard would improve the look and long term overall health
@Something2LookAt8 жыл бұрын
No, it really wouldn't. That yard needs a major weed treatment and fertilizer, which it will never get because it's a rental. The request on those is always "Mow it as short as you can." Sigh. Because they think it will buy them more time till the next cutting. They just don't get it.

Is overheating with the GoPros a common issue? I just bought 2. How can it be avoided. I will be mowing in South Florida (Boca).
@Something2LookAt8 жыл бұрын
Yes. They overheat easily in direct sunlight in their skeleton case. Try to keep them in the shade. Also, the lower the mode, the cooler it will run. I capture in 1080p 60 fps, but often go to 120 fps to get the slomo. 120 gets it hot real fast. And 4K, forget it. I had it overheat one time in 4K mode and lost half of what I thought I was filming. :(
@jimmynomad87938 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. maybe I could build something to combat that. I was thinking maybe a little wood box with the front and back open. Mount the GoPro inside, and mount a little usb computer fan to the back. then mount the box to a tripod. Keeping it shaded and cool. Or maybe just a little umbrella lol
@Something2LookAt8 жыл бұрын
Everything+Lawn Care Ha, well actually I was just talking about this with someone today. I think it would come down to just something like a little umbrella, or just some kind of sun shade between the sun rays and the camera.
@jimmynomad87938 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would probably be the best way to go. The problem though would be finding the right size umbrella. Do you remember those novelty hats you used to see people wearing back in the 90s, they were like a little umbrella hat? That would be the perfect size.
@Something2LookAt8 жыл бұрын
Everything+Lawn Care Yea, that would be a nice size. But this is another thing we talked about. Problem with an umbrella is the wind. Even a slight wind is gonna blow the whole tripod over. We had decided that a sun shield would be the answer. This would be a plastic plate, probably in white to repel sunlight, or even mirrored, mounted by an bending mount to the tripod mast just below the camera. And it can be small, because the GoPro is small. Like, less than 12" square, so the wind won't catch it. I have yet to fabricate anything but this is the direction I'm going.
