It’s true but it’s also kinda mean to the nerds who grind the game enough and/or make these videos (mainly deralious, skyblock news is just a part of the skyblock-KZbin community at this point). Get rich quick guides, it depends on the creator, and more importantly, if it actually works. Saves some time for people who need money, but don’t want to wait weeks to get it.

24:24 So basically there are two separate fields in the API for your max crit damage and your max regular damage. Since your highest damage will usually be your crit damage, most stat viewers just default to showing crit damage. For all intents and purposes though let's just pretend dungeons are their own thing, and what happens in there stays in there... Edit: Forgot to mention, the regular damage field is also older and infamous for being very broken, making it extra ignorable. :')

This is correct! I started about a month after the game came out, quit in early 2020, played again super casually with a friend in January 2024 and quit in February when I just ran out of things I enjoyed to do that wouldn't take an hour to grind to get. Despite this, I still really enjoy all these videos and watch them, because it focuses on the parts of the game that are more enjoyable, the early game. Everything past like 40 hours in starts being super grindy and just wasn't fun to me.

The dmg In dungeons If you play as healer and heal someone You get a % of their dmg to the next mob which doesn't actually count towards your dmg but It technically does.

3:21, from what I know, the player must deal some damage to the mob for minecraft to apply its normal knock-back and invulnerability frame system and that event gets intercepted by the plugin to tag the mob with the player’s UUID that attributes the kill when the death event of the mob gets triggered.(if the damage of the player is exactly 0 the EntityDamagedByEntity event won’t trigger), in my own custom damage system plugin I set the real(minecraft) damage of the player to 0.0000001. Then my plugin intercepts(gets) the applied normal minecraft entity damaged by entity event that has the player and the hurt mob, I run the health calculations with the custom damage of the player and the health of the mob and tag the mob with the UUID of the player from the event. Skyblock probably uses the same event to apply custom damage and when the mob dies the EntityDeathEvent gets intercepted to give the kill to the player from the tag of the mob. To summarize, you are always dealing real damage even at custom damage of 0, which causes the event that tags the mob with the attacker’s UUID to always trigger. At death, that tag is used to attribute a kill to you. Thank god that their plugin doesn’t check if your custom damage value is 0 when it tags the mob with UUIDs, because the video would not have been possible.

Fun fact, if you use the Gloomlock Grimoire item enough times, you can actually get it to tell you you're dealing 0 damage! Not really viable in a legitimate run of this challenge since it's from Enderman Slayer, but still pretty interesting nonetheless. Great video as always
