The original poem: Sometimes I Just Cry I feel so helpless at times I want to help but don’t know what to do I think maybe a smile or hug will help But I see in her eyes she is lost So sometimes I just cry I try to see into her soul To find her needs right now She looks at me but the light is not there An empty shell that breaks my heart So sometimes I just cry I am older and wiser and should be able to fix the pain Isn’t this our purpose to help our children To take away the hurt with a kiss and TLC I ache to hold her and tell her everything will be fine So sometimes I just cry I so long to see her beautiful smile And the light back in her eyes Hear her laughter and her jokes Worry about her while she is away at school Not lying in a hospital bed. So sometimes I just cry I will go once again and hope she knows How very much I love and care for her She is a fighter and a winner And will not give up until her light shines again.
