Its always harder when your on your own!! Those other 3 gliders worked well together.

100%. Add to which those three are three of the top UK pilots!

Looks like you were flying along with a sink street! The group of 3 gliders on your right seemed to have consistently better lift! I just recently read Dennis Pagans book, “understanding the sky”, and he had a really good section on cloud streets and sink streets etc. definitely hurts when you land on a day that looks like that though! Thanks for another great video, always a pleasure watching Tim!

Interesting, I think I’ve got a copy of that book from years ago - time to dig it out! Thanks!

I grew up in Woolstone at the base of Uffington white horse. Thanks for sharing such a fantastic view of it. One day I wish to fly over it and say hi to Dad scattered there in 2022.

Thanks Tim for this video it relieved a bit of winter blues from not flying for weeks, up north is not good at the minute bloody freezing

@@tonysherrington3137 glad you enjoyed it Tony… it’s been freezing down south too, though maybe a degree or two warmer, and less snow… roll on spring!

Great video, was also hoping for that last low save. Its just the way it goes some times. Thanks Tim. Still a good flight from Milk

You were flying. That's a good day in my book. I've got one of those videos ... 30 minute flight. Inversion simply didn't let us out. But I still had fun.

Lovely video on a perfect English summer day (except for the lack of lift for you).

Maybe the 4 brown paddocks in front of you at 12.08. If you look earlier they are in full sun and shade crosses them when you arrive. I find the shade line can also trigger lift. But it's always a guessing game

Very nice, good to see you in the air Tim! How's that ULS? I still fly the OXA3. Cheers
@TimPentreath19 сағат бұрын
It's beautiful... I would say the OXA4 was only a slight improvement on the 3, but the ULS, is all round a really sweet glider - fantastic performance and beautiful handling. Maybe slightly higher pilot demand than the 3 and 4, but worth it.

Perhaps flying through clouds reduces your potential as the clouds got your number and feel that you are lacking the appropriate respect! Thanks for sharing Tim. Enjoyed watching and knowing that even the sky gods get stumped on occasion. As for advice..., nothing comes to mind except try again another day.

Thank you for sharing. I loved the ‘vive la révolution’ comment, but possibly that caused some karma effect. The brown fields to your left between 10:00 and 13:00 may have saved you. We will never know…
@TimPentreath3 сағат бұрын
@@robertmout7240 haha, good point 😂 And yes, those four brown fields might have worked, I just felt there were more sources and triggers along my line, but maybe not…! Four days later I failed to get away in a decent climb from the same hill, but five days after that I flew 164kms from a nearby hill, so order was restored!
