The salt water did a good job on that trailer, up here on Lake Erie we dont have a trailer rust issue. Just our trucks like to rust out and bend in half from road salt.

The other tow truck driver probably couldn't handle the full life story of the customer... I wouldn't be able to... I just can't imagine what possesses people to unload all of that crap onto another human being. I find it to be incredibly rude.
@jwall6006Ай бұрын
Dustin is so polite and ethical. He needs to be though. If he was out there bad mouthing his previous employer, or not assisting them at a wreck, then it would show on a video or someone would tell them. That could cause him all different kinds of legal issues.

Cool video with a boat, this guy had to know that trailer was going to just fall apart at every weld, very irresponsible for him to put people’s lives at danger like that. It’s embarrassing that the other guy left cause he couldn’t do it but give him a little credit for realizing his limits and not just loading it up and making it more dangerous for everyone. That other company must wish they had a guy that can do it all like Meyer’s does now? Good job Dustin. 👍

Couldn't you have made a ramp like you would for a low profile car? That may have given the clearance for the motor and the cross bar.

Boat owners would do the world a favor by just leaving their vessels at a marina, instead of trailering up and down the highways, or worse, parking their rigs in their driveways.
@Towtruck_DustinАй бұрын
Not an option here. That would add hours to your travel time on the water. We aren’t on a giant lake.
@Adirondack_Gimp92Ай бұрын
Most boat owners Are not like this guy and take care of their Equipment and keep it in safe working order. This guy clearly didn't care he had his boat on top of a piece of crap Trailer that had started to fail long time ago. He's just lucky that didn't fail and cause a huge accident with a lot of liability on his part. Not to mention needless risk to other drivers. Clearly he's not your typical boat owner.
@mrcnorth7149Ай бұрын
Great job Dustin. And for other boat owners, if you trailer looks like this guys did, go buy a new or used one, do not use it as is. Lucky this guy did not cause a big wreck when that completely used up trailer broke down. I am kinda surprised the po po did not show up and cite him for that trailer being not road worthy.

@Adirondack_Gimp92Ай бұрын
This guy obviously didn't give a crap about the fact that he was towing what looked like a pretty decent boat on top of a very dangerous and unsafe trailer. Not just dangerous as in his boat's going to fall off and go skidding across the blacktop, but dangerous to all the other drivers on the road. Irresponsible big time on his part. If you just want one clue, look here 14:21 , you can see he has a couple of possibly 2x4s laterally, one on each side keeping the bottom of the transom from rubbing on the trailer. Clearly, long before this thing collapsed on the highway, the frame had already started to give way, and it wasn't supporting the boat properly anymore. You could see other frame members that were clearly 3/4 rusted through with visible rust showing. He just ignored the problem, or didn't care, because rather than junk it he just stuffed a couple of pieces of wood underneath and figured that was good enough. He also didn't have any other tie downs other than the winch on the front. That's a huge mistake. The front needs to be tied down with something in addition to the winch, plus two additional transom tie downs. This is standard stuff when you care about your boating equipment. This guy obviously didn't. He's lucky he didn't lose the boat and injure a bunch of people, and have a whole lot of liability to deal with. Good job Justin in cleaning up somebody else's mess. You're a good man, and also for not mentioning your previous employer. Always be safe out there.
