Wow, the beginning really struck a chord with me. I think I fell into the "it fits so I have to buy it" trap so, so, so much as a plus sized person. It just led to me having a ton of clothes that I wasn't obsessed with and debt. I'm really trying to break the mindset, but I still find myself slipping. I am trying to only buy things that I am obsessed with and excited to wear!

Thank you so much for starting this series Crystal. Just from the intro I can tell you are very passionate about this series which is amazing. I honestly can say I don’t know my style anymore. I feel like once I hit 25(29 now) that I was like okay I don’t want to dress like I did in my early 20s but I also didn’t want to dress old. So I just have been in a frump and have been buying “what fits”. I can’t wait to incorporate your tips and suggestions into rebuilding my wardrobe.

YES I love this idea! I celebrated retirement a few years ago by dying my long white hair lavender. Before that I had never even styled it. I lost 20 lbs and spent over 12K on clothing at Torrid when they came to Canada as their stuff was MY style. A few months ago I realized that (shopping addiction aside) I needed to learn how to really style these items as I had everything I needed. I no longer buy clothes unless I absolutely LOVE them. Thank you Crystal for helping me stop being a wallflower even in my sixties!

I 100% agree with "where do you see yourself" in life. I work in an office building for a medical company. There are many people going for the same position in different depts. So, you have to think, 'What can I do to better myself and "standout". This is what I personally do and have been doing for years. Dress the part. Just like you said. When you come to work looking put together, YES, you will stand out and be noticed. Go the extra mile and help out more than what your job title requires. It really works. All of these pieces look beautiful that you picked out! I've been on the hunt for a jacket just like that! This is an exciting series!! Thank you for sharing!

I so wish you would make "chic corporate style" a regular feature on your channel! I struggle to find skirts and slacks that look good in a size 1x/2x. It is so easy to find good corporate attire in straight sizes, but nearly impossible for me. Some of us work in an environment where we cannot wear very loud, very bright and tight-fitting clothing as it would read very "unprofessional." It can be difficult to find pencil skirts that fall just below the knee. Luckily, I found some good pieces at Lane Bryant, Eloquii and Old Navy. However, very often it's just one item at this store and two items at another. I'm glad that some folks can wear a jumpsuit to work, but it wouldn't fly in a very conservative corporate environment. I found one online store that had very good options, but pencil skirts were about $250 and dresses were around $315 to $350! What are we to do? Yes, I agree that there are more options now and I'm grateful to those designers that are trying to offer better options, but it's still really hard to find appropriate work wear in larger sizes. Maybe the fashion industry thinks "plus size" women don't work?
@SometimesGlam5 жыл бұрын
I plan on incorporating more corporate styles into my videos and in my in the dressing room series because it is such a big part of my wardrobe too 😊 Some styles can be a little more expensive but if the quality is there they will last for years and you can use it as a foundation to create lots of different looks x
