Let's get this straight once and for all shall we, the massive cave is called "Hang Sơn Động" in Vietnamese. Without the Vietnamese characters, it's "Han Son Dong" not "Son Doong". It seems a misspelling by someone in once upon a time caught on and the Western world stuck with the incorrect spelling, and no has one bothered to fact check. Hang Sơn Động!

Shut it you uncultured convert. How can you even call yourself Vietnamese? Chinese peasants are more Vietnamese than you. Remember that you and your beliefs are a product of French colonialism. Go live with the South Vietnamese in San Diego where you can worship your yellow flag and your European god. Vietnam wants nothing to do with you boat people anymore, our relations with China, the United States, and the rest of the world is none of your business.

I'm a Canadian who lived and worked in Vietnam for three years, and I spent three days and nights in Son Doong Cave. It is really as big as it appears, yet in other places, it can be quite claustrophobic, as you must take off your backpack and crawl through tight little cracks and holes in order to get to other areas of the cave. And we did not go out the same way we entered. We were a very long way into the cave, and were hauled out through an opening in the 'ceiling' using very long ropes and a pulley system. If you get the chance, take a trip like that. I can guarantee that you will not find such an amazing place anywhere else.

Oxalis adventures …..only way in They do tour groups max twelve people…when I did it the park fee to the Vietnam was $600 and it’s included in their pricing Great company they have many others tours as well Central Vietnam Very scenic....they have many other tours also... I also went to Tu Lan and did the boat cave tour from town ...the guy who started Oxalis is local and a really nice nice guy.first night I was there before our tour started he was there and we stayed up talking past midnight...next morning we also met the local man who found the cave back in 1990.. Flights in Southeast Asia are super cheap and real easy to hire private rides.. When I traveled back to Vietnam for the cave tours I flew into DaNang then hired a private service to take me to Phong Ba and drop me at Oxalis which is a little way out from the village.....you can make all your arrangements online before you go Mu driver was waiting when I got off the plane. The Park is very mountainous like the islands offshore up outside of Hanoi. People are very friendly cheap beer walk back in time ....lots of war scars still visible I’m still in touch with them via my wife’s Facebook...They have bikes available so you can ride into town..I was there over their New Year...so when I was in town I bought a kumquat tree from some local women in town gave it to them .. If you get there tell them I said Hi....good luck hope you make it ...it’s an incredible place

Joza Diosa depends on how it is done. In the US, many of our huge caves are national or state parks and very thoroughly maintained and policed. Carlsbad Caverns for example is safe BECAUSE it is a national park, other wise it would belong to whoever owned the land and they would surely charge people a few bucks each to go down and litter it up...

Great video. I did the expedition July 4 2018. Was 3K USD per person.

You need to literally bring the sun down there to appriciate how massive this cave system is, those tiny lights just aint work.

and once you do that, the whole ecosystem will be ruined.

We probably shouldn’t. The organisms there have extreme sensitivity to lights because they have only been evolving in little to no light conditions.
@SisterHoodChannel6 жыл бұрын
If there’re too many lights they can’t actually express the depth of the cave, so basically they can’t show the massiveness of Son Doong unless there’re more shadows. Besides, I think Son Doong has had the perfect amount of lights already, it looks more natural this way
