Just to clear this up: this *isn't* a fan edit. There does exist a fan edit of *Son of Sleepaway Camp* that fans of the series did to bring it more in line with the series, however this is an *official* and widely released alternative cut for international markets. *Son of Sleepaway Camp* was the title given to this film by an Italian production company that owned the rights to sleepaway camp as a series in Europe and Asia. They gave it the new title and edited pornography into it, to get in an X certificate as the print they had received was heavily edited for gore, so they used to porn to get it a x rating and trick people into thinking it was a much more graphic horror film. The fan edit removes the porn, adds in deleted material from this and other sleepaway films, changes the music, does some ADR and inserts some references to Angela. So in short there is a fan edit, which has confused people but this is an officially international cut of the film, and was made years before Internet fan edits were a thing (1989 apparently).

Ok so let me se if I understood that. This movie originaly had nothing to do with sleepaway camp. The killer in this has no relation to Angela nor is he her/his son. The fans just edited references to sleepaway camp so it seems it is a sequel and to make me ask myself "WHO THE HELL FUCKED ANGELA!?".

I remember watching the original RED DAWN a few years after seeing this review on the Cinema Snob site, and when Colonel Strelnikov popped up in the last act of the movie, I remember saying to myself: "Oh shit, it's that weird shirtless mustache guy whose voice sounds like Nick Nolte that was living in the camper from SON OF SLEEPAWAY CAMP!" The "Son of Sleepaway Camp" title comes from an Italian production company, who owned the European and Asian distribution rights to the Sleepaway Camp franchise. They not only changed the title, but the randomly inserted hardcore pornography scenes to get it an X rating, to try and trick European audiences into thinking it was a much more graphic horror film than it was. The fan edit removes the porn, changes the music, adds flash backs and uses deleted scenes to make it more of a horror film. So understandable mistake, but Son of Sleepaway Camp is an official International title.

Digital files recorded in 2012? No...240p is not acceptable. He clearly has lost the original file, which is fine, but it's not enjoyable to watch. Of course there will always be sycophant fanboys ready to defend whatever, but come on. It's a strawman argument you and Therry are using, I'm not arguing that old, shitty looking VHS recordings shouldn't look like old, shitty VHS recordings.
