i went to the dealership today and they said the price would be from between 1.6 crore to 1.7 crore PKR i was actaully dumbfounded. They also said the 2.5 L Turbocharged engine would produce 295 HP and 422 NM Torque. and they say the 0-100 time would be 6.3 seconds. Also they said the launch event will be in second week of Jan. Now saying Civic's market will be effected i don't really think so. Bcz Sonata is D-Segemnt Sedan and Civic is C-Segment Sedan. Considering with what Hyundai told me today regarding price, i think Civic will still sell like it does now. If Honda by a miracle reduces prices of Civic then it would postively effect the Market of Civic even more Civic costs around 10,200,000.PKR Sonata right now costs 11,300,000 PKR. there is 1.1 million difference now, and 1.1 million difference is still a big difference Now If say Civic RS E:HEV comes out as well this year mid, then it would depend where Honda prices it at. Now unless ur rich enough to add 2.0 million or 3.0 million to ur budget just to get the Sonata then it is fine. But mostly are buying new cars today on a tight budget. Most will consider crossover in this budget as well. Bcz Sportage 5th Gen and Tucson 5th Gen are launching as well, now considering these 2 are highly successful models, i think they will make the competition for Sonata Tougher, bcz both will be priced under 1.3 crore. And the usual market norm these days is to Buy a Crossover over a sedan, so Definetly considering other cars in the market like Sportage or Tucson and Now MG HS as well all being offered in Hybrid and Non Hybrid versions, it is gonna be a race against better overall package more then anything to see what happen Civic sales took a hit, bcz most people thought that they are getting a good crossover in civic's budget and since "showsha, roab and unchi gadi" and all that crap are two staples of rich people today the didn't consider civic. Same could happen with Sonata as well. BCZ don't forget Honda is Launching HR-V as well and rumor is it will under 10 million, it is already a good car with just missing features, when HR-V arrives with E:HEV and many new features, i think people will shift towards that car too. But let's see what happens, best wishes to Sonata from my side.

Already made my mind of shifting to sonata from my '23 civic rs. Even though i've tuned it to stage 1 with ecu remap and It's producing around 220 hp but 290hp is ofcourse better figure. What's more impressive is the torque. It's surely gonna a push back into the seat. I'm just a lil skeptical about sonata's grip and handling as it's completely different segment than civic but i'm sure if the N line is coming hyundai would have made some tweaks for N line variant as it's in the end their performance oriented variant. P.s: Talked to few hyundai dealerships they're quoting price b/w 13.5-14.5million. They are gonna produce ckd units of it. 12th Jan is the launch date of sonata at lahore expo.

This is better then RS but still need to see handling, road grip and braking. 1.5 will be a big jump from civic so it will destroy civic but civic at crore has its own market. Civic needs hybrid to save from the competition. Only then it will have power figures to compete. I didnt like previous sonata shape but this shape is a winner. 100%🎉

In terms of performance, yes honda need to re-consider now. They can bring a 2.0 hybrid civic which has very good acceleration and 0-100 time if they want to compete with the new sonata. Even the new elantra is faster than the civic RS.

salam bro. i think 1.3 - 1.5 range is just too much. i dont think civic users can easily shift by paying around 50% more. it will also be having 8-10 lac of registration cost. hyundai should rather launch new shape sonata with 1.6 T hybrid which makes more sense and can be available at 1.1 crore. and whats wrong with all those auto manufactureres. nothing for 5 million customers. hynundai should also launch a subcompact. sell more and earn the same profit.

@@minaco2772 Civic in Pakistan is so stripped. Honda atlas has ensured they will do crazy amount of cost cutting. Even base models in global market have more features than top of the line civic here. Civic has had many quality issues in Pakistan. At least one should go for elantra. Point is you end up paying rupees 11 million and still won't get a lot of features.

Tuned civic has 0 to 100 in less then 4 sec with custom turbo charger initial mai easily cap karegi n line sonata as when cvt locks its game over also sonata has bigger body weight more then civic but overall build wise acceleration wise this sonata turbo will be best but yet again tuned turbo has higher top ends and locks the cvt less body weight
