We're glad that you enjoyed it. I think that for me, what helps with this repertoire is to really go for it with contrasts in mood and tempo. It's exciting and fun. It helps to play often with the same musician(s) as well, for good communication, and being able to follow each other through the shifts of mood and tempo. And of course, even though there is an improvisational feel and element to the music, it is very important to have a clear beat. Enjoy!
