I can't help but look at this piece as Chopin's "goodbye". It's so nostalgic & has such a strong yearning quality to it.

late Chopin style is something new... He found and discover Impressionism.

Nope, he didn't. He just had a few harmonies here and there that reminds of it.

This is definitely the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. It isn't sad but still makes me cry 😥

I agree Chopin is kind of groovy , imagine if there was Facebook or Twitter when he was alive , you wake up one morning and Chopin posted “ I have an idea , what do you guys think ?” We actually live in fortunate times despite what’s going on, my Childhood hero pianist Fou Tsong passed last night. Very sad day indeed. I see Chopin ‘s nocturne like a book of life, there is a piece for every occasion. What do you think Edward Snowdeni

Yes, there are so much variety within the 21 nocturnes! They all share part of a "nocturne" character of a bittersweet feeling of nostalgia that both warms and hurts, but within that some are more direct and some more reflective, some in major some in minor, som faster some slower, etc, really covering a lot of ground between them!

so brilliant! I've been practicing this piece recently and this video is very useful to me, elaborating on the details that are fascinating. There's indeed a lot to dig in Chopin later works.

One of the most beautiful of Chopin's. I think this piece was also a state of respect to Bach because second and third theme resembles a prelude/fugue but of course with more elements.

Cool video. I applaud you on your skill. I want to start learning this piece. Probably just going to learn the agitato section to begin win, since I'm working on several other chopin pieces that I need to finish. Though it seems very daunting

Thank you! The agitato section is handful... but very rewarding to feel all the voices in the hands working together.

OMG exactly what I needed! When receiving piano lessons, I feel I need to learn more about theory as well. But not many teachers can help with it no matter how well they play the piano.. Thank you so much! Very helpful for dipabrsm exam preparation both for performance and viva voce.

8:44 you missed the connection with f minor fantasy, it has exactly same modulation before the new theme. (Is the third bar you have on the screen in this second... ) 🙏

Very cool videos ! The last two nocturnes are the most beautiful Chopin wrote... Just one remark : at 8:54 the A is supposed to be natural (it creates an augmented 6th harmony, more dramatic and disturbing than the simple dominant harmony you played).
@SonataSecrets
@SonataSecrets 3 жыл бұрын
Oh, I completely missed that! Thanks for pointing it out. It just felt so natural to play A# to form a diminished harmony, but you're right it should be A natural.

I actually don't have personal consultations as a Patreon benefit as it is. But if you send me an e-mail I can respond privately and we can see if we can find an arrangement. You can find my e-mail on the "about" section of the channel. (I will respond later in August since I'm on vacation time right now)
