It’s bittersweet to watch this, sweet that it’s the whole thing, bitter cause some of the cast aren’t with us anymore.

Actually it's not the whole thing, it's my selection of the most interesting items. Several of the numbers here have been previously posted on KZbin, but several have not. And this is the "illustrated" version.

I have to say the biggest treasure amongst all these gems may be Barbara Cook and Josh Groban. Two of the most beautiful voices in an unexpected Sondheim duet.

I love the multi-generational aspect of this duet - the young artist admiring and taking inspiration from the mature muse. 🥰 I’d love to see Josh as George in a full production someday!

Yikes that rendition of Losing my Mind is impeccable. It's almost impossible to believe something so controlled and clean and pure could come from someone nearly 80. Wow.

....and then to see who we've lost...Marin, Barbara and the wildly crazy and amazing Elaine. We have been blessed having them when we did.

All the crown jewels of Broadway celebrating one of the greatest composer lyricists of the millenium. Thank you for this. Marin Mazzie is extraordinary as is her husband Jason Daniely. No one has ever bettered her singing of Back to Before in Ragtime. I had the great pleasure and privilege of meeting her a few years ago, She was as beautiful and charming as I imagined she would be. Such a loss as are so many others in the cast.

Silly me, I looked up Len Cariou to see when he died and HE'S STILL LIVING! He's younger than Hearn (86, because he was a year behind my Mom in their Memphis drama class) at only 80.

Imagine how thrilling this was for Carol Burnett, whose childhood home was five minutes away from the Hollywood Bowl.

A real pick-me-up! The beginning montage alone is wonderful (those colour photos...!) and the performances delectable (Nellie and Sweeney reunited are beyond words). The overture gave me goosebumps, especially when they played the chords to "Johanna" to accompany "Send in the Clowns." To think it all comes from just one man. And I love the dress Ms Burnett is wearing! And to think Ms Stritch came only as a second choice to sing "Broadway Baby"... to Mel Brooks, no less.

The most powerful voice of the night was Audra McDonald .. she DID not need a mike to fill out the Hollywood Bowl. I loved that Barbra Streisand made an appearance @ the end .. a phenomenal and inspiring night for Sondheim lovers.. 🎉❤😂

I love Audra McDonald, she has an amazing voice and technique, but "Not A Day Goes By" is sung best by Bernadette Peters in my opinion...I always cry when I hear Bernadette performing the song.

@damienburke288: According to the results of the tea leaves and when the Fortune Teller read Streisand’s palm, if she was too young at 25 for HELLO, DOLLY!, then at 80, she’s too old for “Rose” in GYPSY. So, no movie.
