Unless the bike is totally submerged this is an incredibly insane idea. Wait till he needs to remove the battery and / or work on any of those component wires. Hard to believe that someone would damage and diminish the value of the bike out of fear of some water getting in the battery compartment.

Ronald Ramsey thanks for watching my videos. Any plans to make a skid plate for the Sondors Rockstar? (I am incredibly insane by the way) the rtv looks nice now that it dried and a simple razor blade will free the battery in 10 seconds. I never need to take that battery out. It’s soft rubber Ronald.

I recommend liquid electrical tape for waterproofing, Ive slathered entire rc cars in it and driven under puddles all day. Best part is that it peels off easy/cleanly if you want it gone. ✌️

Dam I wish I Nee about that idea, thanks man I’d like something that comes off easy if I decide to ditch the idea.

Really surprised those battery doors aren't gasketed being a mountain bike and the conditions they're used in.

Same here Ed, I’ll try this and see if it does anything and pull it off if it doesn’t. Seems like a good idea for now, but we shall see

If you're going to caulk I would recommend taping it first to control the lines. Free handing is something only tech's who do this every day can get away with. Cheers

Agreed I should have used painters tape and took my time…it failed in the end

Dang bro, I used to be a window Glazier and my caulking skills let’s just say we’re pretty clean, this video killed me😆should of taken a nice putty knife to that and did some fine lines😉a Matt Haley Original! Get it my Brother 🤘🏻

I commented on the wrong situation. Sorry for the confusion…the material shrunk about 20% and saved my ugly lines. I stand by my decision to waterproof the battery compartment as I cross water often.

Thanks for the shout out dude🤘🏻never met Tommy (yet) but I watch all his videos! Those guys rip👍🏻Now did you have issues before with the water? I was told the motor is water tight, not that I would run my bike under water…but rain and splashing through some shallow creek crossing shouldn’t hurt it. I’m not 100% on this but I choose to stay dry 😉

You got it dude, you helped me get this bike where it is. Hell ya Tommy! I haven’t had issues but my local ride makes me cross a stream of 2-4” water five times one-way, I ride it 2-3x per week it scares me into thinking I’m going to get water in the case somehow. Also that water makes mud and caked on dirt so I’d like to just hose it down everyday and that scares me. I’d like to just hose it down after a ride and not worry about it. It’s an idea, I’ll check it maybe pull it all off too. Now what’s this race you’re talking about bro?? Im so in! Got to be one Ventura race and one Orange County race to keep it fair 😂😂😂

Perfect I’ve never shorted out my electronics and I took it out really real easily with a razor blade.
