Delighted that Bauhaus Staircase went to number 2 in the U.K. charts. Their highest album chart position. English Electric is still my favourite album though, since the original members reformed. Hopefully, O.M.D. Will continue to create more masterpieces, going forward !!! 👌

As a child I used my own money and joined the OMD fan club in 1984. Can you just listen to what I have to say please? Much of the beauty of the old stuff comes from the fact it was hand played, it wasn’t quantised, it couldn’t be. It felt alive. Now we live in a world where all music is sterile and homogenised by cubase and what have you. Unfortunately your modern material is no exception. I know its a commercial risk to hand play stuff and perhaps just doesn’t feel natural in 2024. But… could you at least play some synths live, using Cubase as a backing track? And NOT quantise, or pitch correct them? Also digging out the Korg MS20 or old any old Oberheims you still have would be incredible. I so miss the old days when your music sounded alive and organic!

I have to disagree that English Electric is the best album since 'the reformation; I reckon this one is... the experimentation is still there, but it's all built into proper song structures with classic OMD melody this time around.

The first two tracks on the album are standout tracks and are miles ahead of any competition...best things I've heard all year. However I disagree that humans will go extinct...there's more than one species of human out there...just like in the past the other tribes found a way to survive with in Sapiens genetic data although they went extinct.... Sapiens will survive in the genome of future humans...don't be so pessimistic!.
