Believe me, KZbin has been a blessing to many music artists that would have never been given a chance by music/record companies from before the 2000s. It was Sam Hart's "Mario Kart Love Song" in 2011/2012 that introduced me to original artists making acoustic songs, either using a ukulele or a good old fashion acoustic guitar and a XLR microphone to go for it. This song reminds me a lot of what Sam Hart did back in the early 2010s did for his music.

My gosh, I haven't heard this song in decades. What a rush of memories. Lightfoot's music was often present in my home in the '70s, and this is one of his lesser known but nonetheless perfect works. Nice job!

Darlin' Dunphy, you have a lovely voice and a heartfelt interpretation, as well as a solid self-accompaniment on acoustic guitar, - BUT - I have a recommendation: Smooth out the vocal dynamics of the song by employing the following techniques: 1. Sing the lower range notes louder as in "Lamp is burning ..." 2. Decrease the volume as you ascend the scale when you sing "... low upon my table top." 3. Hold back the volume on "If I could only have you near ..." 4. Give slightly more volume on "... to breathe a sigh or two." As the rendition currently stands, I am straining a bit to hear your lower range and then I get blasted out with your upper range. Once again, if you can smooth out the vocal dynamics between the lower and upper range, you will enter another level of professionalism in your singing craft and Tara will tantalize her audiences' hearts out.
