I've always liked this gorgeous piece by Phillip Sparke for euphonium. One of my favorite solos to play on euphonium. This recording is of Riki McDonnell himself - may he rest in peace - from his CD entitled, "Midnight Euphonium". I'm sure because I have that CD and Riki cuts out 2 measures of the cadenza after letter 'E'. This piece was commissioned by Riki himself many years ago for Ina Williams. I have three of his CDs and always loved his tone. Some called him, "The melody man". His phrasing was perfect on slow melodies and his vibrato is a bit slower than other soloist. Bravo!!
