georgea Obviously everyone is free to interpret the lyrics how they want to, but in this case it's written under the official mv (in the infobox): "Don't Look at Me Like That has a rather controversial, experimental lyrics about love between the same sex, different races, different ages, and other possibly prejudiced and stereotyped relationships." :)

the lyrics do not match the video. two entirely different messages were forcefully combined. the video was made for the foreigners, as an 'eye catcher', and the lyrics are for the koreans, or for those who can understand korean, to change their mind. social engineering, wrapped in entertainment. ^ ^ but the song is very beautiful. THAT makes the whole thing devlish.

馬君 its about same sex love
@馬君-q3v8 жыл бұрын
리서준 i do know what it is about. i was refering to the people who do not understand korean. they can not, only by watching the video, know what the song is about, and certainly they would never guess it is about lesbian love, by seeing the pictures. the video is misleading, and i think this was done deliberately. what you see has nothing to do with what you hear. such thing is unusual for kpop. usually in kpop, video and audio are intertwined, support and amplify each other. but here it is not so. i would like to know from the producers why they did this. was it their own idea, or had they been pressured by someone (for example the government)?

For the ignorant ppl saying its not about homophobia at all, go read the description on the mv Also stop bringingships into this. Stop assuming they're gay, straight anything that is fully for the idol to disclose. Its rude and disrepectful to disregard the struggles of those actually lgbt. Imagine being cast out of society purley cause of who you love. Especially in a country where love isnt even legal. Ship who you want, but this song isnt about ur fetizization of gays, this is about the strugle of minorities in korea and other countries.

Wow. The lyrics are so powerful, and share a strong message. When I read the lyrics and listen to the song, I think of those who are the same sex in Korea, and they love each other, but are put down because their society doesn't support couples like that. And, I also think of those kpop idols who are in love but they can't be together because everyone doesn't support their relationship. Man, society is so sad these days now. Can't people just leave them alone?

I loved this song without knowing its meaning, I dunno why i'm obsessed with it but now as i'm reading the lyrics i realized the reason why ❤ Guess my heart responds to things better than mind, those words really describe how i truly feel 💔 no matter what you do or say you'll always be judged, especially when you're in a forbidden love story.. Until someday, you'll hate everyone, and be by urself, lonely, sad, no one to talk to, no one to trust, always being laugh at .. this is what I feel.. and that's why i love this song ❤ Be wary of people you're giving ur trust to, don't put all your hopes on something/someone because at the end it/he may break you down.. and it'll be too hard to stand up again.. ❤✌

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the song is generally about relationships that are often disapproved, rather than a specific one (Ahem people, the world does NOT revolve around your favorite idols). Also, the English title 'Don’t Look At Me Like That' is not a very good translation of '쳐다보지마'. It's closer to 'Don't Stare'.

I see many coment talking about this song is for "chanbaek" or "baekhyeon"... And I'm just thinking this song reffering to gay couple in general. Don’t hate on us, however you’re viewing us (about homophobic who spread hate when they see gay couple.) We’re just a little different (different from other """""normal""""" couple and different from you. And it's for this sentence I really think this song is for gay couple or couple that society judge.) But you are free to understand the lyrics as you want, but stop "fight" "it's for chanbaek!" "no! wrong! it's for baekhyeon!"... This is so childilsh.

Even in germany all of this kind of relationships are allowed, we can even marry... the people will look weird, insult us or hate us for loving each other. The world will never change. If love is only allowed between man and woman, the one who created us, would have make it stuck in our head like this. Nobody can controll his or her heart. Love doesn't depent on age, gender or nationality. I wonder how long it still last, until the people and especially the homophobic get this.
