My story begins like this, I see the Lord's hand from the time of my conception in my life, My Mom wanted to abort me, I was saved due to the efforts of a Doctor who is a Catholic Nun, All my chilhood memories are flooded with how I searched for God, I was very much involved in all religious activities but I still did not have the real peace in his heart. I often wondered, “After all these religious ceremonies which I am performing every day, am I in right relationship with God? Is he drawing closer to me? My earliest encounter with Christ was big image of the Sacred Heart, I always felt called by Him, During classes and even at break I used to look at Him, the day His eyes met mine, He never left me, I still was a stauch Hindu, I wanted to overcome my karma by performing devotional rituals, but fear of death and reincarnation had overcome me, the words of Christ to Martha has set me free " I am the Ressurection", I followed Jesus right from I was 11, I was hated by my family and relatives for my faith in Him, but the Lord was gracious enough to take me into His fold when I was 16, I was baptized along with my Mom and maternal Grandmother into the Church. Jesus my Savior, my King my all in all changed my life, there is no meaning to life without Him.

In 1987, I walked into a church to pick up my then toddler children for a weekend visitation. I had to come into the sanctuary to look for them and I was anything but pleased. I saw them front left and saw the path down the center aisle and headed that direction. I had to cut left in the middle but my feet did not obey me and brought me to the front of the altar. the pastor had to stop preaching his sermon at that point. He saw me coming. A number of other young men came forward after me and also gave their lives to Christ. No altar call, no special evangelistic conference.... just Jesus.......

Yes,it glorifies the God of Israel and the Creator of the Universe. God calls out to everyone ( from every tribe and every nation) but it takes humility to hear his voice. Jesus is like a bridegroom coming for his bride or like a lover coming for his beloved. Both the Song of Solomon and the book of Ruth have that wonderful message of redemptive love and point us to Jesus our true love and Kinsman Redeemer. And the good news is this: Jesus will come again and rescue those who put their faith in him because he is God. Just check out Psalm 22, John 14:1-4 and Revelation 3:10-11. In fact, the whole Bible from Genesis (see especially Genesis 3:15) to Revelation points to Jesus being our Savior and the true Messiah. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for going to the cross for me. Your great love and sacrifice has rescued me and set me free. Maranatha!

This is so romantic and spiritual. I love how there are many different interpretations in songs including this one. This is certainly refreshing because it doesn't sound like every other worship/Christian song. As a Christian youth it is important to me to immerse myself in God especially through music. I don't really connect to hymns and have felt disconnected from the mainstream Christian contemporary stuff because it doesn't evoke as much meaning to me. I feel like ( not to be rude or anything) they all sound the same and aren't creative. It really lets me down sometimes. Micah Ow you are in serious danger of worshipping the music and not God. Music, by the way, is NOT worship. It is prayer. Worship requires a sacrifice be offered and eaten. This is a problem for many. Also, looking for emotional uplift from music is a poor replacement for a relationship with the Lord. Emotions fade and feelings change. God requires your intellectual engagement. Love is not an emotion, it is the willing of good for the other as other. It is a voluntary intelligent response. Get rid of the emotions and begin loving!

I dont know where you are now and your struggles. I have been clean and sober for 4 yrs. I finally stopped running. I adopted two children at the age of 55. New job new house new car. Within 4 yrs. Psalm 51 is my favourite psalm. It is the psalm God used to grab my soul.
