I know you guys like Song of the Ancients so here's another take at it! This video combines the Fate, Atonement and 8-bit versions. Take note that the video does contain spoilers so watch out. Enjoy!

the problem here is that you obviously did not understand what devola and popolas purpose were, they both had the mission to save humanity and they indeed helped The Shadowlord aka the Real Brother NieR but failed to do so. the devola and popola in replicant died. the Devola and Popola in Automata are the last Model version of them. and they knew what the previous model failed to do. So they do their last duty of saving humanity, they let the only trustworth android 9s and 2B/2A see the truth of humanitys fate. and yet here again in Replicant there was NO good and bad. it is instead very hard to tell what would have been the right decision, Helping the Shadowlord NieR to save Yonah and Humanity? or Help Replicant Nier to save yonah and his friends? maybe you should watch: Understanding "Song of the Ancients" - Joanathan Barouch. he explained it very well

SPOILERS: i want some to honestly tell me that if they played the original if they trusted these 2. it makes to much sense to instantly suspect them given what happened in the original especially since devola is best girl in the original which made it worse for me. yoko taro is a genius cause he used those feelings against us and made us hate these 2 from first look only to explain how terrible its been for them and for judging them as the same people. this devola and popola were programmed to feel constant guilt over their failure to stop the world from ending(nier killing the shadowlord was a big fucking deal lol) when it wasnt even them. they didnt do anything wrong in fact they did all they can to help and no one will ever know that. as soon as i heard song of the ancients specially the hollow dreams version played when they help you into the tower it broke my heart because i feel in love all over again and knew i could trust these people. FUCK YOU YOKO TARO WHY MUST YOU DO THIS!?

I didn't trust them at first, ever since they were anounced to come back I thought they were going to antagonize everyone. And you are completely right about them doing the best they could for the world, it's just that since they antagonized Nier (even if he doomed humanity) it's harder to sympathize with them.

When you killed the original twins and went on to kill the shadow lord, guess what you set in motion the total extinction of humanity and this game is the fruit of YOUR ACTIONS.

I loved this song in Automata, it was my favorite from all the OST, however, I always felt some melancholy from it that I couldn't understand. Later when I played Replicant, I found so wholesome to hear it again in the town... Boy did it hurt when I heard it again at the end of the game, it all made sense... 😭

So, I know that you mention Automata route spoilers in the first second of the video, but the title /description has no mention of Automata, and the first line is kind of fast. As someone who played through Nier but is not done with Automata, I can't be the only one who was looking at the description of the video for the first few seconds then ignored the text, assuming to be watching some Nier 1 spoilers. I think it would be really great if you specified Automata in the description of the video title, as it is somewhat misleading. Regardless, I do appreciate the effort to prevent spoilers, and cool mix as well.

Zaber177 Copied City was used throughout the area including the first and second phases for Adam. End of the Unknown was used for the final phase. Not sure if the two of them fit though. :)
