Anonymous Schweiz I know it’s been almost half a year; anyway, I just want to point out that “expansive” is an actual word which is a sinonym for “wast” or “wide”. I assume that the English translation of the original Russian song, Wide is my Motherland, was used for the German translation which is, obviously, not literal, but rather literary. So, naturally, being a native speaker of German, you noticed how foreigners confused these two quirky words yet again, but they kinda didn’t. I hope you understand what am trying to say, cause I might have gotten confused myself.
