Man has lost a part of himself to modernity. Yet, The past was filled with strife, tribalism, scarcity and disease. We can’t purely romanticize it, but we must recognize the beauty; the intimacy and closeness to source/nature contained within this song. We are not different from indigenous peoples. Modern people might soon discover that history is a project of taking the fruits of the scientist and laying it at the feet of the shaman. To find something long lost is the single greatest archetype of human life. The spirit in this song is a calling to that lost object. The pain it will take to get it back will be worth it.

The way people have been taking about this really weirds me out. So many people are immediately assuming that this is some, old song they've sung for centuries, passed down from generation to generation. But there is absolutely no proof of this. This song could have been written a few days before it was posted - we don't know. Just because they're tribal people, doesn't mean they don't create new things. They aren't stuck in the past or anything. They are living, breathing, creating. I see so many people like, hyper uplift this kind of thing like "Back when stuff was more simple." Like a weird sort of fetishing. Like what do you mean "back when" 😭 they are here. Right now. They aren't some ancient civilization, they are real people.
