I’m American 🇺🇸 of Mesopotamian descent, a Chaldean Catholic upbringing. It’s so pleasing and humbling reading comments and replies of how beautiful and soul piercing psalm 50 in Aramaic. I take it for granted that I’m a fluent speaker of Aramaic through lineage of course while many people are expressing their sincere interest in learning a prayer or two. My ancestors (from upper Mesopotamia) were the first “community” in the world to become Christians when being Christian was dangerous business at the time. Seriously, they were evangelized by St Thomas himself en route further east to spread the message. Many many of my forefathers paid the ultimate price defending and holding on to their adopted religion. The last martyrs of recent (2014-2016) when faced with the wrath of isis, not one successful conversion to any other religion!

The World stood knowingly silent (allied and corrupt, with the evil side) and did not even offer Humanitarian Aid during the 2020 attack, 10 month blockade and the pursuant ethnic cleansing. @@hasmigmardiros3488 Greetings my friend, Armenia was the First Nation to officially become Christian, northern Mesopotamia was the first Christian “Community” not country to exist as Christians. The Assyrians are our dear sisters and brothers, they’re descendants from Nineveh and the Chaldeans are of Babylon. Some 2600 years ago, the Chaldean under their king Nebuchadnezzar II dealt a huge blow to the Assyrians by sending an army from Babylon and they haven’t forgiven us for something that took place in 632 BCE. I did a DNA test 3-4 yrs ago and came back totally unexpected, 65% (+/- 7%) as being Caucasian with the highest concentration in gear and Armenia and I don’t know how this could’ve happened as I can trace my roots for six generations being born in the Christian villages of nearby Mosul I don’t know how or why this happened, it couldn’t be from 1915 with the Armenian crisis, nor 1860 when Czarist Russia threw everyone out of their empire and into the Black Sea. Babylon is light years away from the Georgia / Armenia and I don’t know how or why they ended there ! Oh, the girls her look so so much like many girls in my family, maybe, just maybe as I’ve read something superficially the Sumerians of 8000 yrs some say 11,000 yrs migrated to that region. Why ? Only God knows. The history of Armenians is really sad and tragic and going to harp on it, i assure you I will say prayers for your loved ones and your beloved Armenia. Thank you for explaining, very interesting. I will read up. I know of the Babylonian Clay Map (the oldest in the World). And I pray for your people and the horrors you experienced. The World should have stopped ISIS much sooner (unacceptable) and condemned Turkey for supporting and harboring them. They still do. @@garym.5931 Greetings 🖖 my friend. I realize it’s Turkey that stole your sacred land in Azerbaijan under the cover of Azeri military which was and is armed by Turkey. I also realize isis are alive and well, well financed by the oil wealthy gulf states. Oh, the majority of isis are NOT Iraqis or Syrians, mostly are from former Soviet states Chechens, Bosnia, etc also Saudi Arabian fundamentalists ! People came from the endless countries of this n that -- stan stricken and hopeless boys and men with a $300-$400/ month salary had to appear hugely attractive in their dismal existence incapable of finding work to even feed themselves, they had nothing to lose in their utterly hopeless existence thanks to their oppressive corrupt regimes who failed miserably in creating jobs for their its citizens Now the Azeris are forever indebted to Turkey, they’ll take whatever they want from Azerbaijan in their very fragile economic state, Azeris will likely say ok no more, Turkey says I don’t think so, you get the idea. Look my friend, they’re so so easily defeatable just like the US air strikes in 2016 after their usefulness was no longer needed, only then the Iraqi army was able to go in and all they did was clean up after the US decimated their ranks. The U.S. was satisfied Iran was no longer a threat to annex half of southern Iraq, another topic for another day. Listen, in the history of humanity, all conflicts had one common denominator >> ECONOMICS in one way or another. Turkey joined NATO in hopes of becoming an EU nation and they’re sadly mistaken, it’s an impossible scenario to admit a fundamentally Isl*mic nation. I’d like to add here in the US, Isl*m are incredibly detested and disliked by the overwhelming majority like no other nation on the planet. Now, let’s see what happened to the Turkish currency (lira) the last year or two, it’s devalued by two-thirds since the Armenian Azerbaijani conflict and in a nation that’s practically devoid of natural resources, it’s just a matter of time. It will self destruct from within, 25% of the population are oppressed Kurds, too much to mention but you get the idea ! Once more, nations, empires, kingdoms throughout history have been toppled like a deck of cards for one reason >> ECONOMICS. When people have nothing more to lose they become the most dangerous foe to their own governments, I foresee it in the not so distant future. Remember economics has always played the role of bringing down super powers and often under the weight of its citizens ! Peace ✌️ shlama (it’s Aramaic)

I’m certain ur not Christian, otherwise you wouldn’t be saying this. Well, guess what my friend, if NATO is to dissolve, Russian soldiers will be camping in your backyard within weeks. I mean Putin wouldn’t even think about invading any sobering nation now would he ! I’m a proud American 🇺🇸 if Mesopotamian lineage, I don’t understand why the false disdain and resentment of the US, if it’s so bad, then please do explain to me why 99% of humanity will do anything to live in the US and it’s a fact of reality hardly needing assurances or convincing. if it wasn’t us, then it’s likely you would be speaking German or Russian (assuming ur not already Russian or anti-Christian). If you think Stalin was a mass criminal, without NATO you’ll have a thousand Stalins invading free European countries and beyond, meaning right, left and center to include wherever ur from. Look at the dismal existence of communism brought ! Listen, take Gengis Khan’s wrath with unspeakable atrocities, Napoleon for example, adjusting and factoring in today’s population is responsible for 20 million de*ths, Stalin > nearly 30 million, AH of Germany 1930’s 40’s, a conservative 20 million, Mao of China > 50 million. I can go on, guess what they all had in common ? They were non Christians and atheists who have the most blood laced hands in the history of humanity.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: A psalm of David. It's in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ. - Psalm 50 - There are different numberings of the psalms. According to the Orthodox tradition it's Psalm 50. In other traditions it's Psalm 51. Music by Rev. Fr. SERAFIME BITH KHARIBI, Archimandrite of the Georgian Orthodox Church, religious leader of the Orthodox Assyrians in Georgia (there are also the catholic Assyrians in Georgia) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy kindness: According to the abundance of thy mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thorughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done what is evil in thy sight: So that You are justified when You speak, And blameless when You judge. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy kindness: According to the abundance of thy mercies, blot out my transgressions.

We use this Psalm extensively in the western rites too: "Asperges me, Domine, hyssopo et mundabor, Lavabis me, et super nivem dealbabor” (at the start of every Tridentine Mass), "Domine, labia mea aperies, et os meum annuntiabit laudem tuam" (at the start of every Rosary), "Lava me domine ab iniquitate mea et a peccato meo munda me" (the _Lavabo_ after the offertory in the Novus Ordo). And, of course, Allegri's _Miserere_ is a setting of the same psalm.

I am neither Eastern European, Orthodox, or Catholic, I am a devout Christian. The beautiful music of reverence and worship of God are universal to all those who know Him.

I’m Chaldean Catholic, yes the same as the ancient Babylonians. 85-90% of all Aramaic speakers are Catholic ! I didn’t understand one word here and I’m a fluent speaker of Aramaic. Language is near extinct as 90-95% of native speakers are being born in the Christian west, maybe one more generation. Greetings San Diego, California

Jesus said to Nicodemus "except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot see or enter the Kingdom of God" this corresponds to Acts 2:38-39 when Peter (who Jesus gave the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to) answered the men who asked what they must do to be saved. Peter said "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ.." (and Peter even told them what Baptism is for here) "for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for the promise is unto you and your children and to all who are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call..." this IS the 'death, burial and resurrection' of Jesus Christ brought to pass in our life when we obey the word of God and submit to His will. Do ask for more information. ❤
