The scene shows one of Brer Rabbits many tricks to outwit the fox and the bear. This is a Part 2 to the 'Song of the South' Brer Rabbit Runs Away From Home scene.

Amazing how Uncle Remus's actor also voiced Br'er Fox AND Br'er Rabbit in the Laughin' Place act. James Baskett, what a legend. Br'er Bear also reprised his role in Splash Mountain, decades later. SotS fans should read "Who's Afraid of the Song of the South", an excellent read about the film's history and making.

I think art and history should not be hidden from society just because it is "offensive". This is still a Disney classic film that won Oscars. It has cultural significance. It should at the very least be preserved as an artifact for future generations to learn from. And as far as offensive and racist films go, this is practically nothing. There are much worse examples that are preserved like Birth of a Nation. Do we burn all copies of Marquis de Sade's novels even though they are the most offensive in existence? No, they are readily available because of their historical and artistic significance.

As in ``inspired Mark Twain.'' He lived in Hannibal Missouri in the 1800's, would have known slaves . . . If you do not know who Mark Twain is, you know nothing of American literature. It was required reading for me, both in high school, and a couple of different college literature courses. I was not talking about Disney at all. I am saying that Brer Rabbit reminds me of Huck Finn.

The animated segments were always my favorite parts of the Song of the South film. Maybe if the whole film was animated under a different title with just Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear as the main characters and were still voiced by the same people (Johhny Lee, James Baskett, Nick Stewart), Splash Mountain would probably still be opened at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to this day instead of being replaced by Tiana's Bayou Adventure and wouldn't be considered racist and the ride's animatronics probably would've been updated.

Splash Mountain is closed for good. I’m all for a Princess and the Frog ride, as it’ll be amazing, but that can be built anywhere else. You don’t tear down one of your most popular attractions. They can take down Toontown which isn’t that great. Build some quality rides there like Princess and the Frog, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

I grew up watching this film and loving these guys and Honestly I don’t understand why this movie is so controversial and racist if it’s a Disney movie from the 1940s and the Disney today is not only trying to erase the movie but also the lovable characters along with it that people are fans of I certainly hope Disney puts them in a better spot and not forgotten these three deserve better and should be brought back
