Easily the best video of its kind I have ever seen! You give a lot of information in a well-organized and nontechnical fashion. Thanks!

Great and very entertaining video. There are some stunning images. Makes my back yard look very basic but as you say if you feed them they will come.

Thank you for the inspiration shown by Gary Carter to setup a backyard habitat. I setup a small scale area in my backyard and it is incredible how many birds have been attracted. Enjoy all your videos on Amazon Prime and have learned a lot. Keep up the great work!

Nice video, I do that also in a hut in the forest, mostly squarrels and birds.

Good explanation about flash photography and especially the use of an extension tube to reduce the minimum focal distance. I'd love to visit that garden one day.

My caravan is in a friend's garden. It's a HUGE farm garden and although it's very difficult because there are many bushes and trees I have counted 41 different species. This, though, is AMAZING!

Great video. I just purchased a Baronette blind and hope to get some great wildlife shots. Can you tell me where you purchased the bracket for your flash and Beamer?? So far I’ve had no luck searching the large photo shops online. Thank, Brian

I just found your channel and have been watching everything I can find. Your website is great too. I have to agree with others that the music is a touch too epic for the situation :-)

Dear Doug, will you be doing a segment on what types of insect repellent you use if any and clothing that should be worn with in the woods or forest when shooting wildlife photography?

I’m creating a bird sanctuary on my 2 acre property on Cape Cod. I get a wide variety of birds, wild turkeys, raptors, and small mammals. It’s my small paradise.

Great video with great tips. Even though you’d "manipulated" the environment none of those great shots were gimmes. You still had to put it all together and press the shutter at the perfect times, as with the cardinals. It costs my wife and myself a small fortune feeding our birds and our garden is only 10'x15' at a guess. Gary Carter must spend a large one, but I bet he says it’s great value for his money, even without a camera it’s great viewing.

What would be your best tips for taking excellent photos of song birds without a feeder?

In short: use the longest lens you can afford, setup in areas the birds frequent naturally like berry bushes or near a concentration of insects.
