I'm sorry, I can't even make it past the Hendrix thing. that tone made bagpipe music sound angelic! As for the rest of the tones, I play guitar too. I'm an accessory nut. love all kinds of dulcimers, but in this case less is more. just because you could, doesn't mean you should. i think i'll keep an eye on your channel. i hope you can show me some new vids that will change my mind. i'd love to hear some compelling reasons to use effects, otherwise, I think I'll stick to using a humbucker-style pickup with a coil split into a clean channel. Maybe a slight hall effect for some of the slower deeper clasics.

Chris, must this be made with wood? I'm wondering about Denrin or plastic rods, would not care about temp, and I'd love to play outside in our Colorado weather. Wish you had spent more time on the instrument instead of spending so much time selling amps. Don't need the excess baggage.

Sorry for the confusion, we don’t sell the amps (nor this particular model of dulcimer). We simply wanted to show the possibilities of what can be done with an electric hammered dulcimer. If you are interested in a weather proof dulcimer, we have a special model called the Festival Dulcimer, made with customizable laminate. This allows it to withstand rain and snow. @@inkybell We can make the Finch Chromatic Pro or Swift that way but unfortunately no others. The reason is because the top has to be arched, which we can only do with the Mahogany. Sorry about that!

No, this was a fun experiment but we decided not to produce them due to lack of interest. However, the acoustic dulcimers which we sell with the same pickups sound the same as this one :)
