Hey, 90's teen here (literally spent my entire teen years in the 90's, '93-'99 to be exact) anyway... It's crazy to me to how diff does she sound to anyone else? 2022 Mariah sounds kinda weak, strained, not much better than some of the chick's I've heard doing her songs karaoke. Sounds harsh, not meant to be, simply the best way I could think of the describe what I'm hearing accurately. So, while yes, she's no longer a spring chicken and as every singer and pretty much every human knows, voices change over time. However, whoa! Just, whoa! Ok so, moving on... Am I the only one (doubtful but....) that only and I mean exclusively hears nothing but the 90's Mariah voice when any memory of her pops up, at any mention of her, even the sight of her prompts a song of hers to play in your head? Goodness it's just got me baffled how that's her.... Speaking of MTV videos my friend, do u remember Friday Night Videos?? I think they were on til like 12am or so cuz it was after my weekend bedtime (when i was like 8-12 yrs old of course). So my neighbor & i snuck down to the livingroom like every weekend I could stay over at her house, to watch the last 4-5 videos of the episode, hoping like Hell we wouldn't get caught or we had to do chores instead of watching Saturday Morning Videos. Ahhh Sat morning videos... Not just hrs of awesome entertainment but the only thing my butt got up to an alarm for prior to having a job lol! Oh, and I must say, WILLINGLY got up for... forgot to add "willingly" there, it's imperative to include as it implies how much i loved them videos, and for good measure I'll throw in that I also got up to said alarm ENTHUSIASTICALLY while I'm at it cuz it's true...sadly, it's true 🤣 What good times, seriously... I beleive the first clip is Mariah live at Madison Square, Fantasy tour, it was and still is the best concert Ive ever seen!
