Celebrating Songkran Festival (Thai New Year) in Samut Prakan Province in Thailand just on the outskirts of Bangkok. Songkran is Thailand’s most famous festival. During Songkran, water is used symbolically to wash away the previous year as a form of purification so people can get ready for the following year. A powdery substance derived from limestone powder also plays an important role in the festival, It's smeared on the face to ward away evil spirits and provide protection and good luck for the following year.
