Songmont Review: Good, Bad & Big Question; Where is this heading? 🧐

Today we have one of the most requested brands to review - Songmont!
I got two bags from them: one is the small chocolate bag, used by a friend before our inspection, and the other is their popular Luna design, brand new in the box. We'll open both bags, inspect them in detail, and compare our findings to the brand's claims.
First impressions of the chocolate bag? It feels a bit plasticky, and I'm concerned about the materials and hardware quality. On the other hand, the Luna bag's leather quality and craftsmanship seem much better.

Once you buy any bag (fake or genuine), that "newness" wears off. You still feel empty. A bag doesn't really satisfy what's missing in it. think about it. Because once you get tired of it, it's a waste, why not buy a super fake *condup* so you won't lose a lot in the end

Nothing we can do about fakes…I could care less how many people have the same bag as myself…that makes it really spoken for.. I hate when people say they don’t want a certain purse because everyone has it….well everyone has a hole are we gonna get rid of ours because of that? I like the review. To attract markets from Asia, usually most companies try to avoid mentioning polyurethane leather or synthetic leather or PVC sponge leather. They will call it microfiber leather or just sponge composite leather by throwing out the words PVC and PU. But when consumers find out what they are using is not leather, usually companies in Asia will counter it with climate change issues so that other potential consumers don't run away. Luxury bag consumption in Asia, especially East Asia, is very large. Without exposure like this video, perhaps many people in Asia still don't know.

Whew! A moment of good old cognitive dissonance when I saw you had a clip on my new second-hand bag! I’d just chosen a Manseur Gavriel bag over a couple of other bags at more or less the same price point. A blue one, unlined, so very simple but my goodness!- what a modern look and feel to the design! The photos screamed quality and purity of design. You agree, I’m thrilled to see. THANK GOD I DIDN'T BUY SONGMONT OMGG. I knew this brand is a bit dodgy when I've seen every single fashion/handbag influencer HAVE this brand. not only that, I try so hard finding bad reviews but it's really almost little to none! but thank goodness on reddit, I found one post talking about the Reset Tofu bag. I've been eyeing that bag for ages! but it has flaw on the flap it starts to crease after many wears and read that how the shipping also had issue. they didn't even gave you tracking details. and the way the website written in description is so messy. the Chocolate bag looks cheap tho. the fact that the price is expensive in my currency is the reason why I pause my purchase and contemplating. this is really a good sign for me!

I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. I have the song bag (the bucket one) and it’s like the Luna with that same leather and I love it, and it doesn’t have plastic “leather” on the inside, but the other one I have my eye on (the drippy roof bag) does say it has the microfiber “leather” and that’s why I haven’t bought it. I’d rather they just have a cotton lining instead. It just cheapens the bag to have plastic.

*preluxz* I have the Coach tabby 18 and wow that bag didn't transfer a bit of color, I even wore it in the rain with my dark denim jacket, keep in mind it was absolutely pouring and I put it on underneath my jacket Got wet, that was over 8 months ago, it's very sturdy and over a year it's still looking great, also the same light yellow color so you can easily match it with anything, even a jacket, when you wear It really pops when worn with dark clothes.

I’m waiting for my mini song bag and am praying it’s good! I heard so many mixed things about Songmont and it makes sense if the bags all have different levels of quality. The mini song bag looks like it has leather closer to the Luna. I was not a fan of the chocolate bag at all and heard bad things about it before.

Do you up cycle or recycle the leather pieces of dissected leather products? As for this brand, personally, I would pay a bit more for certainty of quality. They don’t have to be top notch. But if I have decided to pay for a certain level of quality, I would want to know that this doesn’t fluctuate across the brand. Otherwise, what’s the point. It is better to go to the indie and small studio market. There are some amazing hidden gems there.

Agree with you and thank you for your honest comment. I saw this brand some while ago in KZbin. and some KZbinrs introduced it. The black bag looks very plasticky even on the screen and the other looks nice but when after I visited their website. It's made in China and the story they wrote. I have no more interest at all.

I can’t even afford any designer bags. Sadly, I have never been one that has extra money. I didn’t want to use credit cards. I’m 63. And I love them all. Seeing so many people who have over 10 designer bags. 20..25. Etc. And I’m like what ? I can’t even get one 😂😂😂😂thank you for explaining this and I do enjoy them

I recently added 2 super fake ones to my *condup* and no one can tell they are fake. I'm glad you pointed out why I bought them, I use them as accessories to enhance my outfits. I love them, but part of me wishes they were real. I love using them when I'm out and about, and when I'm with friends who also love luxury goods, they can't tell and I get a little chuckle. I guess I don’t want people to think what I’m wearing is fake. I just love *condup* of these bags without spending a fortune.
